Im trying to get the Loco Motion to work with Robo Recall using Revive. AND.. more important. YES .. before you ask.. Yes, it is under the default profiles. I have contractors on Oculus and I was having trouble getting it to hook in and for sprint mode to work properly so I used the default profile trick. If you want more info on the method it is at the 3:36 Using the default profile timestamp. In the drive the folder looks like this: DEFAULT.

Happy to help and thanks for the sub! Unfortunately there is no way to upload or give profile configurations and it will depend person to person what is most comfortable but the setting I recommend tinkering with the most is the curve setting. I tend to set it as high as I can tolerate for a game and keep the rest of my walking accurate. You should be able to lean left and right without it moving your character but walking should be smooth and uninterrupted. Hope this helps!

@@xpairofdice3010 Will do. I do have one question regarding NMS (not treadmill related). Like you, I have NMS on game pass and I was running it on my Quest 2 through the Xbox app and it is virtually unplayable. I have tried other Steam games without any issue and I wondered if you had any tips. Do I just need to buy it for and run it directly off of steam? I have tried adjusting settings per other post's recommendations but nothing has helped. It sucks too because I love that game. I have an Acer Predator and the specs are way above what is required for the game. Thanks again!

Unfortunately NMS in VR just runs very poorly. Even a system with a 4090 and the best CPU will struggle to run that game all max settings at high fps. I have a 4070 ti and an amd 5700x cpu and I run all settings that affect the cpu on the lowest setting and then all settings that affect the gpu on medium. I run it at 72 fps and it can still frame drop on occasion when loading areas. If you don't have it turned on DLSS is literally a must. Even on my system the game will not run in a playable state without DLSS. My best tips would be to literally turn everything to the lowest, turn on DLSS, run your headset at 72 fps minimum resolution and see if the game is even playable. If it is not playable at those settings there is nothing to be done besides upgrading to a better pc :( if it runs then slowly start turning up your resolution and certain graphical settings until it is the best balance of graphical fidelity but performance for your specific system. Hello, I have issues updating the sensors, as I launch, it asks for sensor update, and I can see the green buttons in the menu ,it keep on loading forever then when I cancel it ask me either to update or close gateway, any suggestions

You could try factory resetting the sensors. On the side of the sensor there are pin holes that have a reset button in them. One should be labeled as firmware which I am not sure what it does, possibly a manual firmware update. But the other is labeled as reset. Put a thumbtack or paperclip into the reset hole and repeat the initial pairing process with your PC. This may be a pain for the direction sensor so if you have a really long android cord this can be used so you don't have to remove it entirely. You will need to pull the backplate off of the treadmill though to access the port. After you reset and re-pair the sensor if this does not work I would recommend contacting Kat VRs support team.

How do I play the games that come from supposedly built in I downloaded that app and if just sends me to the web page but not sure how to play it. I also cleaned off my sensors and it shows green on the main page of the katvr app but every time I launch it it wants me to plug the directional sensors into the USB hub which I've tried to do on the hub connected to base plate and to my PC USB slots neither give me check mark but somehow still works but when I'm walking the direction is definitely off

I"m a little confused, is this video for people wanting to play Quest store bought games with their KatVR or does this apply to Steam bought games? Is playing Steam games a lot easier? I only own a few of in the Quest store, everything else is through Steam. Does this video apply to me?

I have not tested the nexus enough personally. I know they just dropped a major update for it or will be within the next few days where alot of games should be working and it will have official quest 3 support so I plan on testing soon within a few weeks. Happy to hear the workarounds helped!

Oculus PCVR games are downloaded on your PC from the Meta Quest Link software. It is a separate PC app that is not stored on the headset

Is there a way to get the katwalk to work with games that dont support motion controllers? Theres a couple of vr games that require a basic controller such as an box controller but i cant seem to get it to work with the kat.

I dont think so because the Katwalk is emulating your VR controller joysticks. You can mess around on the page that lets you change it for quest controllers and see if xbox controller is an option but I dont think it is. Hope this helps!

Hello, i have a problem with my c2+ setup with Steam index, i doesent seem to get it to work at all, all sensores are paired and they all seem to work but i cant do 1 step ingame, The kat VR service team was really helpfull(sarcasm) and linked me to your video that i found already before, gateway tells me that i dont have a controller pluged in, and the service team told me that is simply a bug, i did everything you did in the video, i set the walk action to joy stick i increased the acceleration curve, all sensores are on and charged , ingame settings are set as they should be, the foot sensores are working as indicated on gateway main window, Headset/Body direction works left/right foot works, green dots across the board,im at a loss, if i try to get the KATVR support i will be either linked to the user manual or to your video again... any ideas? Great video to many people that had the issues that you explained. great work!

Can you make binding for your own Unreal environments?

You can either use the native Katwalk APK which can be found in their discord which does not require bindings at all I believe. Or just add standard VR controller movement to your unreal game and then bind accordingly in the Kat software. If a game is not using the native APK it is always joystick emulation so you would just need to add typical VR joystick movement to your game and it should work. Hope this helps!

If you run it through steam it should work without issue on virtual desktop. For running it through Oculus on VD I have not tried. You can try compatibility mode and the default profile trick and if those don't work I would skip VD and run it through air link as contractors was one of the few oculus games that worked natively with the default profile for me, it might not like going through VD

Fantastic! This should be referenced by Kat VR support. I've been having a rough time getting non-Steam games working with the Kat VR. Would you be so kind as to share the .json profiles for the games you have working, including the native Steam games? Pastebin or something would be super helpful. The Kat Gateway software only pulls in .json profiles from games it sees installed in Steam. Any non-Steam games turn into a 2-hour guessing game.

Should be C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\KAT_Gateway\Profile\GAMENAME Easy to find if you go into any profile and click the import button. After the warning, you'll get a file selector for the folder of the current profile. Small update - Half Life Alyx now works, thanks to this excellent video! The manually added profile I created using the hlvr.exe location would never show up as "Current Game". Once I created a new hlvr.exe under DEFAULT, it worked perfectly. It doesn't show anything in my list as "current game", however. Maybe that's expected, since it is the default profile? Also, for some reason on my brand new installation my Quest 2 controller isn't detected. It just says no controller. Doesn't seem to matter, though, once I changed the input to joystick like you show here. (Come on, Kat VR support!)@@xpairofdice3010

I’m getting disconnected sensors despite charging everything a good while. I paired it just fine, was working last night, now nothing. All are disconnected.

I would recommend a factory reset of the sensors. Remove them from the shoes and on the inside you should see a pinhole labeled "reset" and then repair them. If you have a really long android charging cable (microusb, 10ft kind of thing) you can run it from your pc to the direction sensor without having to remove it when you repair.

Sorry to hear the software gave you trouble. I would recommend a safe mode boot and uninstall and reinstall the software. If that works you can also contact their support via discord or email for further assistance.

Yes you can! I have gotten all of my VR modded games to work with it. All resident evils, deeprock galactic VR. GTFO VR mod and more. As long as you either run it through steam or use the default profile with a custom one trick there has not been an application I havent gotten working. Hope this helps!

You can try updating to a beta branch of steam VR if you are getting instability issues. Especially if you are running oculus through steam with the treadmill it can get a bit touchy with all that software running. Hope this helps!

While I have not specifically gotten that mod to work (havent played it) I have been using UEVR injector mods on the treadmill and played alien fireteam elite on the treadmill. Either by using the default profile trick or running it through steamVR (if you are on oculus) by using VD (virtual desktop) or steamlink (I personally use VD) there hasn't been a game that hasn't worked for me, hope this helps!

I would highly recommend joining the discord for that. I think I remember seeing posts about someone getting it working. I was actually about to start messing with trying to get the new UE VR injector mod by praydog working and some other Lukeross VR mods on the treadmill but you can use the search bar in the top right of the discord to see if others had success with it.

I've been trying to get my Core to work with Arizona Sunshine 2. I can get Head direction walking working but how do you get the body direction working? It looks like older Gateway versions had a directional source you could set. Is that now gone?

Yes, that option is now gone as far as I know. They used to have it to where it needed to be manually set but at this point they have what they call decoupled movement as a standard that your character should always move in the direction that you are walking (or the direction that your chest is facing) and you can still turn your head. This results in being able to walk forward but look left and right/ aim and shoot left and right while moving forward which you cannot typically do in VR games while off of the treadmill. Just to confirm it is working fine on your windows profile but then on your son's it doesn't? Because if so that sounds like administrator issues to me where the install only installed to your specific windows profile and not all users. This could be due to specific installation choices, some applications will give you the option to install for yourself only or all users for instance. I would try installing the software under his profile and do a second setup and see if that resolves it

Also as an absolute worst case the software may require administrator permissions which is causing the issue. I could understand wanting a separate profile for your child so you could make another spare admin account that he can only access for treadmill use with your permission if that would solve the problem?

@@xpairofdice3010 an error loads when I try to install it on his profile. When I run the program, it doesn't see the sensors. So I'll reload the sensors on his profile but the program does not see that I reloaded them and it gets caught in a constant loop of reloading... finding.. reloading.... I'm curious if it's because of the copy of Windows that I have, which is professional. I'm going to convert it to the standard Windows 10 home and recheck. And if it still doesn't load, I'll just wipe the PC and repurpose it for VR only.

Running C2+, steam VR, oculus 2 headset (which is a joke), rog strix gaming pc with ryzen 5 (I know...) and high quality graphics cards. Trying to play Half Life Alyx, horribly glitchy and sensors walk in opposite direction... Trying to play Ghosts of Tabor, walk straight on C2+, walk sideways in GoT Trying to play BoneLab, everything seems to be perfect but movement speed in game is a fraction of what is should be. I find myself taking 2-3 steps for every one step in game. In each of these games, I can't seem to find settings in steam, katwalk interface, or in game that will fix these. And yes I've calibrated every time. Katwalk customer service is of no assistance and nothing online helps. What the ****!!!!! Is going on?!?! I will send someone money that can help me completely fix these issues. I'd like to enjoy this very expensive garbage setup.

For the sideways walking you have to click the physical recalibrate button on the treadmill which should be right behind your head (a bit of an awkward angle but it fixes it every time for me) as for the poor game experience in Alyx I would try dialing down graphic settings and see if that helps. As for the Bone Lab movement speed make sure you don't have any in game settings like arm swing being tied to sprinting/fast movement. Blade and sorcery does this where you have to physically swing your arms to make your character move fast, this helps reduce motion sickness but some games don't allow you to turn it off so you just have to walk/run on the treadmill AND swing your arms too. I always recommend messing with the curve setting the most for in the software as this makes walking much easier or harder depending on how high or low you set it. Hope this helps!
