I had a leak just as described in the video. I followed Lehew's instructions to the letter. When I removed the clutch slave housing, the seal was out of the housing and protruding on the rod just as he described. At that time, I did not have the replacement seal. So, I pressed the seal back into place as a temporary measure until my replacement seal arrived from Partzilla. So, about a week later, when the part arrived I went into the garage and installed the new seal. Reassembled the bike and went for a test drive. This is when stuff went South. During the test drive which didn't last very long, I discovered I had lost gears 2, 3, 4, and 5. I freaked out!!! Called a friend of mine, he asked me if I had bled the clutch after reinstalling the clutch slave housing? I said, no the video didn't mention anything about that. Long story short, he came over and showed me how to bleed the clutch. Problem solved and blood pressure back to normal. This is a great video. He just forgot to mention bleeding the clutch afterwards.

I did not have to bleed the clutch after the repair on my bike but it is possible that air can get into the hydraulic clutch system whenever you move those parts around

Pushing the seal on will cause the inside seal scraper be turned outward and will fail because it needs to be turned inside to seal. after the seal is installed pull out the push rod and when it is pushed back in the inner seal scraper will be in the right direction.

Could you tell me the part number for the oil seal? Kawasaki just deleted all the parts diagrams for the older bikes this week off their webpage :/

Best thing to do to push it in is use the old see as the pushing surface and a deep socket as the pushing object

dude, put oil only on inside of seal , not outside, thats why it slips out when old, its not a bad design as u stated. thats how all seals work,. is that mayo on your shirt or didyou BLOW A SEAL?

Exactly whats happening right now 3/22.....i had my bike sent to the shop to get new starter on...got my bike back and started once but started clicking again...so what they told me was they had to fix something else dealing with the clutch relay(part name could be wrong)..got bike back and rode it now immediately I see that same leak going down that shaft tubing without taking the cover off..it almost made me think that my oil drain plug was leaking and by it being on kickstand the leak flowed down it..but this says it for me i was sure they had something to do with that...i didnt have these extra probs til I took it to the shop
