HI. Great video. I have just brought one of these. 2 things, you mentioned you were going to spray some carb cleaner and WD40 on to the carbs. Noobie carb question, is it literally that? Spray down the ports you can see? Second, unrelated, could you tell me what size the thread is for paddock stand bobbins. I have a 1999 C2 which I pick up on Wednesday and need to order some but I have been getting all sorts of answers on the net. Sorry for the carb questions but as you can see from my profile photo, my other bike is fuel injected. Thanks for the help.

yes the spray helps disolve the crud in the carbs where petrol wont ...Not sure on the bobbins ... sorry have never used them

Hi recently checked over my 1998 zx9r and noticed some damage to a green wire. it was hanging around behind the coolant bottle I cant see where it should go. hopefully removing the tank will help me find out so thanks for the video. Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated

Great video mate. Cheers for your time. Quick question if I may, I have a flat battery can I jump it off my car?
@AdeReeves4 жыл бұрын
I used a jumper pack to get it going ...but as long as your bike is a 12V system..all is good..just watch the cables as you don't have much room on a bike battery and its easy to short.

Great vid, thanks for sharing. How exactly do you clean the k & n filter? I have one on a bike I've bought and need to clean it. Any advice would be welcome.
@AdeReeves5 жыл бұрын
Hi...I'm not sure if its the "Official way" but i use a degreaser bath and a stiff brush....after that a blow off with the airline brings it up as new...nope that helps.
@HalfdeadRider3 жыл бұрын
Use a K&N cleaner or soapy water through the opposite way the air flows clean thoroughly, let it fully dry and oil with K&N oil, kits are cheap and last years.

Hi mate quick question the front bolts that hold the tank in do you know what size they are I'm struggling to find this. One of mine has snapped so looking to replace

Nice video, I have one as well, same colour. What is it that you do with the WD-40 and the carbs?
@AdeReeves5 жыл бұрын
Thanks ...I spray WD40 liberally and let it work into the sliders etc for 20 mins or so....it's a little kinder than using carb cleaner with all the rubber parts..

Hi Ade. Can you remember on the oem air filter, metal screen on top or bottom?
@AdeReeves4 жыл бұрын
the air filter is a K&N on mine so cant say for certain...but i would assume bottom to stop anything going towards the carbs

Bit late but metal screen goes on top. When opening the box its the first thing you should see. In case of filter breaking of age or so, the screen mesh stopt small filter parts being sucked into the carbs. You can find it online as well, onderdelen-kawasaki.nl

@7:12 it looks like your handlebar is practically touching the frame on full left lock. Is that normal ? Something about that doesn't look right. Too much lock for some reason.

Hey bud quick question, should I switch the tap to off and then run the bike until the bowls are empty?
@AdeReeves4 жыл бұрын
I don't ...but some say yes....its better to run the bike as often as possible but if you plan to park the bike up for a long time, maybe think about emptying the bowls and putting some WD40 down the feed pipe.
