ZX9R E2 Project Battery and Fuel Filter change

Hey there love your 9R, I just recently got a 2000 ZX-9R in Black Purplish Mica w 45km /23K. It is going through a number of mods and it is pretty cherry like yours. The 9R is so comfortable man. I just installed a brand new MIG silver weave race muffler a Canadian seller has brand new old stock, I almost went for the carbon high pipe but decided to stay with the original mount location. Also adding a 6Sigma jet kit & K&N filter and a 4 degree ignition advancer, Dyna coils and an AS3 Performance silicone hose kit. The bike came w a cherry aftermarket GP Suspension rear shock and Corbin seat , what a advantage the seat is over stock. I am swapping out the E1 H fairing stay bracket for the 02/03 Y bracket so I can add some Apex 3" adjustable clip on risers and then custom SS brake lines. What I am trying to find out is whether I will require a longer choke cable. Also have the 02/03 braced swingarm on way, now the E1 bikes were the lightest of the bunch at 403lb dry so adding the new swingarm will up the weight. The Mottobatt batteries are really good, I am looking at that or a Yuasa and just did the fuel filter as well! Are you in the UK? I also have a Red Fox rear hugger on way but if I install the new swingarm that will have been an utter waste of cash. Whats mileage on yours? How long have ya had it Tom?

The Cisco Kidd the choke cable is pretty long... if fit the risers and find out, keep tank off while in there so you can re route it... if you need another, not so bad to change. I want to jet mine, advancer and new swing arm. I’d like a 10r swing arm though. Maybe zzr1400 forks, only need to change the steering stem over apparently? Hose kit will be another thing when I get a radiator sorted! Haha it would be a waste if you fit another swing arm, but the braced arm is better. Especially with an upgraded shocker! One of the other things I’d like! Haha. You’ve got some work buddy! Haha

Cisco .. your bike will be lethal after the mods ! I guess it's a keeper . What's the Corbin seat like? Is it for comfort purposes or ?

@@eskimodoodle yes the bike is a keeper, sold my ZX14 last year and picked up a 96 ZX11 that is pretty mint and few weeks ago the 9R. The Corbin seat is just superior to the stock seat, comfort wise and how it looks, it came w bike, I paid 2k Cnd w a bunch of extras, incl rear stand, stock parts. Yes it is fun, bought both the 11 and 9R for less than I sold the 14 for by alot and still cash in jeans after mods to each one!

@@8713Thomas I am not bother w USD forks, the stockers are more than adequate, will do a rebuild of brakes at end of season and swingarm as well, no rush on it, I want to keep it as close to stock outside the mods mentioned. I went w 6Sigma jet kit and may do an ignition advancer as mentioned just not 100% sure. The aftermarket shock is real nice. Will post up a video of the bike

The Cisco Kidd make sure you keep all the original things, these bikes sell for more with stock stuff. So I’ve been told. Haha. I know they’re great forks, no problems with them. I may upgrade the springs, but the wife won’t allow me to have a new bike yet. I’d love usd forks, though. So many more options for wheels and brakes. I’d also like efi, but may as well wait for newer bike. I’m thinking cbr1000rr 2008. Or same year 10r. Hmmm

@@8713Thomas 😂😂😂 where did you buy fuel pump from ? Wemoto ? Was your old battery not holding charge or did you just upgrade it ?

eskimodoodle I haven’t changed fuel pump, just the filter. All the parts are from wemoto though. I just felt like upgrading the battery, motobatts are great... off eBay! 😂

@@8713Thomas sorry yes I meant fuel filter Ebay for some reason do not have a fuel filter for the E1 . ( I'll have to order from wemoto also I guess ) 👍 Yeh that battery is suppose to be good . Light weight and looks good also .
