I saw on the news here in Arkansas. where the suv hit the semi head on...(saw your tow truck.).. Sorry you had to work that wreck..while working Security and helping several of the local fire-police and state department's I have been to some bad ones. Just have to pray and work with what you have. ... Be safe.. from Steven Richey

Yeah, the crash you are talking about was a bad one. I don't post pictures or videos of fatality accidents out of respect for the families and others involved. I have to, as I explain it....go into "auto-pilot"..., and get the job done. Worked all day yesterday with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Major Crash Team while they performed their post-crash investigation on the wreckage at our shop. It's all part of the job. Thank you and God bless.

I take pictures of wrecks I work but I'm with you when it comes to serious injuries or fatalities I keep my phone in my pocket. I worked one on the interstate a couple months back. Construction had traffic at a dead stop. A semi truck came through full speed and rear ended a GMC Sierra and pushed it into another semi that was in front of it. It was a miracle the guy survived. He saw the truck coming and just as he got out of his vehicle it hit and he was actually drug up under the semi. Amputated hand, almost lost his arm and several other injuries. A month later he showed up at our shop in a wheel chair speaking just like normal. Someone was definitely looking out for him that night. Its dangerous out there.

Payers and well wishes go out to the driver of the avalanche. Ron, to bad you couldn't unhook everything connecting and get a good running start in reverse and "SLAM" on the breaks. That unload technique works the best, a little ruff on the equipment though. Aren't you glad I don't work for you with my mind set. Great recovery Bud. Thanks for the hard work Champ !!.

For those hard to unload have you ever tried to take your Redirect Cable block set parking Brake chain off to the rear anchors and winch backward, granted you are missing the control of load. But just for this Purpose I have thought of mounting a second (5000/10,000 LBS)Electric Winch just for this and that way you could still have a Safety/Control connection with Main Winch

you always do an excellent job taking care of things no matter the condition. you'd be a good man to call to move toolboxes. guy i worked with hired a rollback to move his toolboxes. didn't secure the load and his service cart rolled right off it completely mangled. afterwards at the shop another coworker mentioned "well at least he only charged you half price" guy who's out a service cart "yeah because i only got half a toolbox now" hahaha. rollback driver showed up later in the day with a new service cart he had purchased for him. guy says "i don't want a new service cart, i wanted mine here in one piece" there was no hard feelings and the whole situation was pretty comical how the owner of the toolboxes delt with it.

Dear Ron! I am not sure why this video of yours "Kayaking upside down.." came up as "suggested to you [me]" by the algorithm in KZbin, but the title, unfortunately, (see more on why I write unfortunately further down below) sounded interesting enough. 😜 Watching the video, hearing your and the Policeman's comments, hearing your and the Police-officers politeness, respect and caring towards driver and each other and also reading some of your followers comments did however give me much more satisfaction and joy than a real kayaking video would have done. I have also seen some more of you postings, and see that they follow the same path, but it was the 'Kayaking' video that started it all, hence I write here. I would like to thank you for simply sharing what I assume is more or less an ordinary day in an ordinary US citizens workday. Most of the stuff on KZbin in general is quite extreme, one way or the other, regardless of origin; being private, official, commercial, fun or sad, from the US, Europe, Russia or Asia. Like 'kayaking upside down..' would imply. Extreme. Not to mention the news and specifically the American TV-series we get here, what people post on Facebook etc. about their so-called, "daily happenings" or achievements in their life etc. Always extreme and exaggerated, good or bad, happiness or unhappy. Political extremes. In-human endeavours etc. Posted as ordinary. But in reality always far-out from ordinary life. Never the ordinary, daily life. Never what people actually do for living or in their spare time with family or friends. And, being from Europe-Scandinavia, what we hear about the US in news and documentaries is even more extreme so to say, or at least, far from reality and everyday life as seen from your angle (my assumption); it is very focused on politics (what did President Trump or some vicious Congressman say today) or "what does the ordinary American think" as represented by the journalist interviewing some protesting mob outside the White House. As anyone of these comments or sayings would really represent a normal tax-paying hard-working American's opinion or thoughts? Never do the news go to catch the voice from anyone in Arkansas, Nevada, Arizona, South Dakota or wherever. Thus, we are thought that the U.S. is as seen from events in Downtown Manhattan N.Y, Washington DC or some vigorous School Shooting. That is U.S. Or not? Very seldom info from Midwest or anywhere else where normal people stay. The outcome of that is that when meeting American citizens in Europe we think they are a different breed altogether, having nothing in common with "true Americans" as presented in the news and TV-series. "So there are normal Americans out there" is unfortunately not a too uncommon comment when people in Europe meet travellers from the U.S. So, again, thanks for sharing. Have a nice day! And as you say "God bless!". Thanks!

Ron's right about the salvage potential. Still plenty of value on there if it is dismantled properly. I used to work in a breaker's yard and on one occasion we pulled in a burnt-out Jensen Interceptor (the owner had replaced the fuel line with a plastic section running next to the exhaust manifold); literally the only salvageable part was a front indicator, but the insurance company still wanted the wreck.

Yes, when the driver has full coverage insurance, the insurance company definitely wants the vehicle for any salvage they can get. Thanks for watching and God bless.
