Delighted to see you back doing what you're supposed to do: partaking in nerdy plant chat! Keep your head held high and remember how gifted you are and what a great contribution you make to this plant community; including the huge positive impact you have on so many people's lives. I'm proud of you for blocking out the noise and continuing to move forward. You got this! xx

Her excitement and just overall vibe when she talks about plants and the quality of her videos is why I keep coming back to watch. Sometimes even rewatch her older videos too.

You seemed different in this Video! More close to us viewers, more relaxed. It was about plants you liked, Not plants that are just trendy and expensive. Back to nerdy plant love and away from constantly chasing the Hype (i ´ m Not saying thats what you did before, that was just the whole community situation). I really liked this Video!

Yeah, thought the same. Like low vibrations or something? It feels like she's done with making other people happy. Does it makes sense what I say? I really was worried for you, love. You said that you were busy a little too much times for my liking, I must say. Really proud of you!

I really like that you use “obtainable” vs “affordable” because sometimes I find myself very discouraged by big plant KZbinrs saying something like the atabapoense is affordable.. yes $75-$150 is obtainable, but not affordable. Maybe that’s just me and I’m reading into it more than necessary, but oh well🤷♂️

Great video as usual Kaylee :) thanks for providing us with this content eventhough you're super busy and I know things haven't been easy lately. I really appreciate the time you put into these videos. When things slow down I would love to see a kitchen culture update. Your original kitchen culture video is still my favorite video. The information, production, editing, everything you put into it was amazing.

hi Kaylee Ellen, omg that Philodendron Atabapoense has me swooning, the burgundy color on the back is so beautiful, I would love to add him to my plant collection. Also your eyeshadow game in this video is on point.

When they grow up -- Jerry Horn's top lobes get very long, like mule's ears popping up on top, and of course the entire leaf gets much longer. P. atabapoense's leaves also get very long, up to 2.5 feet, or most of a meter. That deep maroon underside is only for smaller leaves, though. In big leaves the maroon is reduced to a speckling.

Love seeing you back!!! Could you maybe make a video of problematic plant imports and poaching? Like, what can someone do to avoid poached plants? For example, I read that you should ask for pictures of the mother plant but I’m not sure whether that’s enough. With the increasing hype around rare houseplants, sadly the possible earnings for poachers increase as well. It would be really interesting to hear how you approach this issue. I can only imagine that it can be quite hard to decide whether a plant has legit provenance or not (especially when nurseries and exporters get their plants from a plethora different sources).

Yay I’m early for once! Thoughts so far. Yes that anthurium looks a little suspicious, could be some sort of hybrid. re: Florida beauty. Everyone I know has issues with cuttings not surviving, myself included. What a lot of people have found if the cuttings do survive the variegation isn’t as great or stable as the original plant but if you take a cutting of the cutting then that variegation is much more stable/similar to the og plant 🤷🏻♀️ very cool plants regardless

That background Phil has a bacterial infection maybe? The yellow ring around dried bits suggest so. If you spray with a fungicide it should help; I think a lot of plants have bacterial infections right now.. Edit: the changes in color and shape of these types can also be attributed to a bacterial disease or something viral, it makes the plants grow small and misshapen and slow, and the wrong color
@floridahiker15034 жыл бұрын
A plant with a bacterial infection should be sprayed with an antibiotic like agrimycin. A fungal infected plant should be sprayed with a fungicide like Maneb. There are videos to help determine what is wrong with your plant.Virused plants should be destroyed.
@andreag85084 жыл бұрын
@@floridahiker1503 where does one get agro or maneb?
@floridahiker15034 жыл бұрын
@@andreag8508 Agri-Mycin 17 and Fertilome Fire Blight Spray contain streptomycin an antibiotic and Fertilome liquid systemic fungicide are available at garden centers and on line retailers. I dont use those chemicals. Im allergic to antibiotics.. I dont touch all my plants. I spray my scizzors with bleach or rubbing alcohol wipe off with a paper towel and take a cutting and repeat the process with a new paper towel when I take a cutting from the next plant. I dont crowd my plants. My reused trays and pots are cleaned with bleach. Disease free plants usually come from a grower who buys tissue cultured plants to grow on. I have not had a problem with plants from Steve's Leaves or Gabriella's plants. There are some xanthomonas bacteria resistant aroids. Study about xanthomonas bacterial blight of aroids. Research Gate has many good articles.

I saw this video when you first put it out, and it made me want an atabopoense SO badly!!! I did recently finally add one to my collection, but it shipped to me during a recent heatwave and although the other plants that it shipped with are doing really well, this one didn’t handle the 90’+ heat/shipping well. I have been treating it for root rot, and keeping my fingers crossed that it makes it- it’s a GORGEOUS plant!!! I think I’ve got mine sorted but it’s still too soon to tell for sure yet. Wish me luck!! Side note: the captioning on the screen says “atomic onsie” while you’re showing the atabopoense lol!!!
