That range estimate is rough for families, the market this was presumably made for. Let's hope manufacturers can figure out how to boost range in the coming years.

This would be at (or near) the top of its class if not for the so-so range. Tesla has its quality issues, but 330 miles versus the EQB's 243 is a huge selling point.

Tesla's range is fake, I've never gotten more than 250miles out of my model y performance.

@@tyltong123 doesn't seem fake when my IT guy has shown me him getting 300+ miles of range on his Model Y. Maybe lay off the accelerator peddle a bit? Or you have a faulty battery or live somewhere where it's cold (where I live there isn't much in the way of "weather")

I have a 2021 model 3 performance which I bought October 2021. At delivery 100% charge was 315 miles and 90% was 283 miles. Now my 90% ranges from 250 - 255 miles… I rarely use the supercharger, since I have free tesla charger at work. So there’s no need for home charger! I’ve heard that you can recalibrate the battery. Which I have not done yet…I am quite nervous that the battery has gone down so much in so little time. And only charged to 100% twice..I live in Napa, and we have a mild climate.. idk maybe I just got a bad battery? Other people I have spoken with others who have not seen so much battery degradation !

@@Pabla98 do you live somewhere where it gets cold? Or somewhere where the speed limit is high? Asking because that may be the issue. Where I live, it's warm year round and our speed limits are relatively low compared to the rest of the country, which may be why someone I know gets the range that the EPA says it should get.

I don’t know where you got the optional trim level Info from. The EQB does not offer massage seats, 4 zone climate control, or air ionization. The exclusive trim adds keyless entry, the hands free trunk, and better sound system. The pinnacle trim adds the 360 cam, and even better branded sound system, and on the 300 the pano roof (standard on the 350, also a standalone option on the 300 for lower trims).

Looking at the MB website right now, it says for Exclusive Trim " Popular enhancements include massaging front seats, and 4-zone climate control with fragrance and an ionizing purifier." Which... the spec sheet seems to contradict. Looks like an error with Mercedes website

I like the subtleness with this design. I look at it like understated luxury, which is familiar with the Mercedes-Benz design language to me. I hope the brand gives us a EV coupe at this price point.

BEV vehicles are kinda hilarious quick at high elevation all that thin area when 300 hp car loses 100 hp due to air density, (we dynoed c5 vette made 220 actual to the wheels no correction) plus KwH/mi is better Denver/ABQ etc

Lyriq is one of the worst cars I’ve ever driven. Dealer had more than 100 on the lot.

I really like the looks of this car; I just really like a boxy SUV. I think it also looks great on the inside and it seems to have a good infotainment system. But it's a Mercedes so it's expensive and in addition the range is mediocre. When I buy my next car I'm going to keep my eye on this to maybe buy as a used car. However, by then I'm guessing I'll still be able to buy something new that has a lot more range, albeit without the cool Mercedes emblem on the front. Maybe Mercedes just couldn't fit the batteries, but I think the battery pack they have in here is just too small for the price. I'm wondering how much brand will matter with EV's.

This is a niche gripe, but I hate when automakers don’t cover up the b-pillar and c-pillar paint (on the interior window trim) with plastic. Especially on a luxury brand. It just looks cheap to me.

Electric vehicles should state their range in two ways: Normal and Winter In Wisconsin. Range drop in very cold weather is a thing that manufacturers and reviewers should disclose.

@@ALMX5DP No. But ice vehicles aren't impacted by the physics of cold weather nearly as much as are e.v.'s. The main reason ice vehicles get slightly worse mpg in winter is usually because of driving slower and idling around other drivers whereas the e.v. battery suffers due to the physics of the battery itself

@@weirdshibainu May not be as much but still there is an effect. Just implying that people should do their own research for what is right for them. EV range in cold weather has been commonly known since the first Leaf came out 12 years ago. I’m sure some earlier adopters of Teslas and other more niche EVs and researchers knew well before that but the public has had ample time to get a grasp for if it’s workable for them.

@@ALMX5DP ICE vehicles do indeed have a slightly reduced range in very cold weather. This is not the same issue as it is with EVs due to the omnipresence of gasoline stations vs. the scarcity and slowness of EV recharging stations.

This car is a pass for me. The inside looks nice, but the lack of trunk space (especially if they are saying it accommodate a third row) and outside styling seem to plain for me. I think I'd rather have the Q4 or Model Y then this.

In order for evs to be competitive with ice vehicles they need to charge 0-80% in 30 min no matter what elec source is used

That's a pretty "meh" exterior for a Benz. The GLA was cool, this one ....isn't.
