That compressor running all the time? You're losing pressure somewhere. Take it to another shop - you need to find the leak before you burn it out - otherwise it's the compressor plus whatever component failed.

I own a 2008 Range Rover Sport HSE L320. Bought it 2 years ago, drive it daily, and have a few road trips as well. So far, I've had to have the instrument cluster panel repaired, a new starter, ball joints, control arms and stabilizer links, new tires, ac charged. Next brakes and hopefully no air ride issues. It has 90,000 miles on it. Paid $7,500...no rust and super clean interior. Forgot to mention, I also replaced the cabin air filter, oil change, engine air filter. I cleaned the maf sensor and also cleaned the throttle body.

I really like this generation of Range Rover. I was looking at getting a supercharged version when I bought my 955 Cayenne Turbo a few years. I think I made the right call because I can barely stand how much work the Cayenne constantly needs. I live in Breckenridge, CO so getting any car work done is a pain. Maybe I just need a car with a warranty lol. All that being said, I still wonder "what if" when I see one of these Range Rovers driving around.

Thanks for documenting this - i shouldve documented my purchase just this past month for this exact same model, HSE LUX Pkg in black. Private Party sale, 1.5 owners, under market value too. 147k miles, clean title, no accidents, no underbody rust! No error codes, no check engine lights, just some cosmetic issues, yet, I was able to negotiate down to only $6k cash! Passed smog and registration paid until next year. Anyone interested can seriously find a deal right now on the 07-09, which in experts opinions, is the best generation of Land Rovers.

I bought a 2006 one owner 50,000 Mi Range Rover at the end of 2017. I've only added about 50,000 me to it and it is a wonderful car for sure! It hasn't been too difficult on maintenance but it hasn't been cheap either. The Achilles heel is if the heater motor fan goes bad it's about $2,000 in labor taking most of the dash out to replace a $150 part. But the Jaguar engine is super solid. If anyone is thinking of buying one of these AVOID THE BMW ENGINE CARS!

Supercharger is a requirement at a mile high. It's basically getting you back down to sea level performance, maybe plus a couple more horses. BTW, I think you are referring to the 7 spokes affectionately called the 'Stormer' wheels. They're still available as new old stock for $4200 a set. I'm guessing you found a used set that needed refurbing (even before they got damaged during shipping)...it's so hard to find a good OEM set of 20's that haven't been refinished or aren't trashed.
@GregV8 Жыл бұрын
For the steering wheel, try a hard brush and lots of soap…go at it hard. You need lots of foam. Use paper towels to soak up the overflow. You’ll be surprised.

Man, I think the stock 19's are just right for something like this. Perfect amount of sidewall.

it would be awesome if you could post up each page of that work order/bill on either a followup video or as a google photos shared file. It will give others an idea of what to expect when getting a L322 under market value. Totally worth it, considering these trucks are now north of $100k new.

For your brake thing, it's possible they didn't bleed/actuate the ABS motor when replacing the fluid or weren't able to get all the air out of it, I've had exactly what you describe happen on some other cars... go take it on a gravel road and stomp on the pedal at like 10-15mph and get the ABS to actuate for a few seconds, sometimes it firms the pedal right up. While it has low mileage, I'd get them to do a trans service. It sucks doing the first time on an LR3/L322/RR-S because the OEM pan has the filter built in and no drain plug, and you have to remove a crossmember to get to it and it's overall not fun. Thankfully all of the aftermarket pan/filter kits have the pan and filter separate as well as a drain plug to make future servicing way easier. Def get the suspension looked at ASAP. Probably a leaking bag or valve. The compressor isn't meant to run that often, and if you don't fix it, it'll burn up and you're looking at an extra several hundred dollars just for the part
@richardh3587 Жыл бұрын
Yep - exactly my thought as well. Same thing with bmws (with which this shared its ancestry)

@@tdc7 you have to on the LR3/LR4/RRS, I just assumed the l322 was the same after they switched to the Jag drivetrain in '06
@LDsgarage11 ай бұрын
@tdc7 correct! I did my 4.2 09 L322 and did not have the crossmember. Also, i would highly recommend sticking to the stock ZF pan with the built-in filter for the transmission
@chamberlin19 ай бұрын
You don't have to remove the crossmember on those particular models (not the L322) with that metal pan filter kit... you hacksaw the old filter inlet tube to get it out.

Kyle, you've always been my EV you tube guy, helped convince me to get a Bolt a few years ago too. But now you're another one of my L322 guys! I bought a 2012 Lux a few years ago and LOVE it. I think you're right to go with a non supercharged version. It's not really needed or a sports car so reliability will be better. My compressor runs for about a minute on first start up then hardly runs. If yours is running a lot after that start looking for leaks.

These videos about the L332 are basically the same. Ooo I got a great deal and then only spent another 10, 000 on it and there's still stuff to fix or OCD issues with cracked this or that or a slightly used steering wheel. But, it's not just about money, it's the time and inconvenience of finding the fault and then teying to get it fixed. Twice they couldn't fix the brakes. But then you're going to spend more money going somewhere else.... 🤦🏽♂️ I still do some of this shit, and cars like these are a money pit. Guilty as charged
