I loved the Mt Vernons at first but they only lasted about 9 months for me. They started squeaking and the sole split at the ball of the foot. I do climb ladders regularly, maybe that contributed.

My guess is a boot with really hard/dense soles (more like a Vibram) would take the punishment of ladder work better. I've done some ladder work in Keens and could feel it afterwards, if that were a regular or daily part of my work I could see needing something with a less flexible sole. Thanks for the feedback.

Great video . As you know I have both of these boots as well . The mt Vernons I have now have the speed hooks or loop option all the way down so that’s really cool.

That’s tough but I think I like the Coberts a little better . I’m going back in forth as well . The Coberts have the protective heel in the back that bothered me when I first got them but after they broke in it doesn’t bother me at all .

@Paul Romero well Paul, I gotta say the Cobergs are the best so far. Look for my review of the 6" Keen Logandale (just got them)

I have wide feet and high arches. Keens are the only boots that fit my feet well.

Question for you: the way you squeeze the sole at 4:15, is it the same feel on both the Coburg and the Mt. Vernon?Solid review, hit all the points. I'm on my second set of Coburgs. They're phenomenally comfortable. The only downside is that the sole will split up front if you squat down on the balls of your feet much. On my latest pair, the sole split away from the toe box in the area where it creases when you squat. Just avoid squatting, if you can!Oh, and I'm totally with you about the inside of the heel holding up. Every cheap boot I've worn has burst through the seams on the inside of the heel area! With the Coburgs, the liner fabric is 100% intact when the rest of the boot is worn out. The laces fail after a few months. I bought some "smoke jumper" laces at a farm store and they've held up for about two years now.

Yes. The soles are almost identical in design, tread, and material other than the coburb has more of a stirup notch. Amazing boots!

Awesome, I'll give the Mt Vernons a try next!

Make sure you check them. Some keen models are made in china. Just got a pair of mt vernons for flat bed trucking work. Hope they work out as much for me as you.

I realize this. I have only bought the "Built in USA" models that are made in Portland. I am wearing their Logandale model currently and will do a six month review on them soon.

They upgraded the Mt Vernon's lace loops to hooks and loops for top five.

Nice! Glad they make improvements to an already great product.

Nice vid! I also wear the Mt Vernon's. They are my favorite work boots by far. I've been wanting to get the Coberg's as well, but I have to have full leather uppers at work :( The synthetic materials make it a no go. And I've worn my Mt Vernon's for about 2 1/2 years now. Longest lasting work boots yet.

Wow 2.5 years is phenomenal! My Mt Vernons are finally starting to fail at the the flex point just below the laces. I want to make a follow up video on this when I can find the time. They are about 3 years old now but only daily worn for 1.5 years approx

I know it’s been awhile, but how did the Coburg’s end up being? I work in a tire store, so lots of squatting. Let me know if you think it’s be good for me!

Can I ask what is the advantage of 8” over the 6” boot ?

How breathable are these boots? I have a huge problem with sweaty feet
@AZsmoothrider3 жыл бұрын
I wear them outside in the AZ heat... I'm not going to say I don't sweat in them, but I think they're pretty good at wicking it away (into or through the boot?) My feet are way more dry than they should be considering how much of the boot is leather. Also my feet/socks and the boots themselves don't really stink- idk what all materials they use but they don't get funky (and the insides hold up great)
@huevosdetoro203 жыл бұрын
@@AZsmoothrider thanks for the feedback bro I also work in the AZ heat but usually wear loggers, these boots including all the keen are supposed to be very good when it comes to keeping your feet dry, and at this point anything will help, thanks again 👍

@@huevosdetoro20 hey no problem. If you try them, let me know how they work for you. I've been wearing a pair of Keen Concords 6" for awhile and plan on doing a review of them soon. They are good too, but not on same level as the Coburg or Mt Vernon (Coburg best boot I've ever owned)

Leave a comment if you've tried these boots and like another boot better than these!
