Jack isn't exactly ruining the community by playing Hiveswap, but he's giving it more publicity which goes both ways. Sure, more fans equal more toxicity, but it also equals more diverse fancontent and money for the devs who worked really hard to make this game. For the people who can't afford the game but still want to experience it, let's plays are useful for them. People shouldn't be hating on Jack because he decided to play Hiveswap. Homestuck is the reason I roll my eyes when people say the Undertale or FNAF or Steven Universe fandoms are "cancer". Ya'll weren't there when Homestucks were the Con Cancer. The reason why Homestuck fandom is going insane is that they're scared of what might come when a lot of people that haven't read homestuck yet will join the fandom. It would bring the cringe back of the buckets jokes, singing 'You can't fight the homestuck' over and over again and stuff like that. Also they're afraid that the new fans might not get along with the old ones or they might not even read the comic but anyway call themselves homestucks (a lot of people do that, after just reading about it in Wikipedia). I think the fandom should be more open minded, less pessimistic. We should welcome the new fans with open arms, give them some tips on cosplay and stuff. Btw I'm really happy you want to play Hiveswap, Jack and I hope you'll like the game. And maybe one day you'll read Homestuck? That would be awesome!

Yeah the fandom isn't afraid of HIM but the COVERAGE he can give of the game. Big KZbinrs are good at letting people know about games. I've been chatting with other fans and they like the KZbinrs but are afraid of the extreme growth. We like new fans but we are afraid of the few new bad apples that make themselves the vocal minority again. In your face and makes the majority of nice fans look bad. And yes we laugh away hates because we have discourse with ourselves and realize we are being extra but the fandom was somewhat calm recently and many people seem afraid to let that tranquility go. Jack isn't ruining anything, he's fine!! ( it's isn't everywhere yet but it's going to happen eventually) All of KZbin covering this like what happened with fnaf and undertale is what is scaring peeps.
