Have you all noticed how the bomb that was solved with 1.43 left on the clock is solved at 1 hour 43 minutes on the stream? 1:43:25 to be more precise. Amazing coincidence!

as a computer programmer I see so much opportunity for compression. for example, on wires, saying "are there more than two red wires" could be a simple "red" callout with a $NUMBER_OF_WIRES_MATCHING_COLORS response. It was nice to see the optimizations they were able make on their own.
@theatog

Personally, I find the best way to do simple wires is as follow: - (Optional) Person with bomb say number of wires (Although optional, this extra step i find usually end up saving time than to skip it. ) - Person with bomb say color of wires in order from top to bottom - Person with manual will have about 95% of the information by then
@highpath4776

Worth pointing out that the bombs in the "Extreme" section are particularly difficult with just two people. The time gets so restrictive you really have to work on modules in parallel which naturally becomes much easier when you have multiple people with the manual. Of course, I'm sure it's possible with just two, so if you're up for a challenge...

Wonderful stream that I sadly missed. I did however create a list of tips for Simon and Mark to consider for the next time they stream this game again. The Extreme bombs are no joke, so I wish to help in the best way I can. Wires: Simon lists every colour from the top down, and Mark works out which wire to cut Button: If Simon needs to hold the button, Mark only says the digit to release on (Simon says "blue", Mark only says "4") Keypad: Simon describes each symbol quickly, while Mark only needs to say the first three symbols in order Simon Says: Colour mapping does not change as long as there are no mistakes during pressing, so any repeat colours can be done by the defuser Who's On First: Mark goes through the list of words and does not stop until Simon finds the correct word Memory: Mark only says either the position ("3rd") or the number ("number 3"); Simon fills in the missing information using the same method Morse Code: Wait until the sequence resets; for each letter, say the entire flash combination DURING the pause between letters Complicated Wires: Simon only says what is present for each wire (neglect to say "no light", neglect to say "white"); any identically configured wires can be cut; if the module is not done after every previous wire has been determined, cut the last wire Wire Sequences: Simon says, in numerical order, the "colour to letter"; Mark only says "yes" for cut, "no" for do not cut Maze: Each green circle is in a unique position on the 6x6 grid, therefore Simon only needs to say one green circle; Mark says the directions for the path without stopping as Simon follows Password: Generally, the word can be deduced from the first three letters ("think" or "thing" is one exception); Simon could brute force the module while doing another module Knob*: Simon notates only the lit LEDs for the top and bottom rows (5 top, 45 bottom) *This module can be done solo to save some time while doing other modules; it's up to them if they want to do it like this: - Look at the six LEDs on the left half side, rather than the top row. If: - exactly 4 lights are on: UP position - 1 or 0 lights are on: LEFT position - 5 lights are on which create a "U" pattern: RIGHT position - otherwise: DOWN position Merry Christmas, CtC.

Honestly, the best thing to do is spin the bomb first, check the serial number, see if there are lit indicators, batteries, parallel ports, etc. Enough of the puzzles have an element on the bomb that knowing this stuff first really helps.

There's no need for that. What you should do is just say what's there, don't lose time saying "no light, no star". For instance, "Red Light". It's assumed no star, because I didn't say it. Also, Simon was told that white didn't matter, but still said "red and white" every time.

The password guess was NOT bifurcation. If the word wasn't "AGAIN" you wouldn't have the _option_ to enter that sequence. The fact that you were able to enter it at all meant that it was 100% certainly correct. Of course if you weren't able to _make_ the word "AGAIN" you'd have run out of time, but once you were able to enter it you know it's correct. Therefore, not bifurcation!

Yes, [SPOILER ALERT] · · · · · · · · Further down in a manual is a bomb with only complicated wires, and tight time. You need to recognize duplicates to defuse it.

I think one of the main things that slowed you down on complicated wires was that Simon didn't simply cut all wires that are the same across the board immediately once Mark told him the solution for one of them^^ (He did start doing it later on) Also what is he asking about the serial number? If it contains a .. vowel? I never understood
@doodles990

Are you asking what a vowel is, or what the serial number is, or why he's asking about it?
@sportsjefe
@sportsjefe 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, a vowel (A, E, I, O, U) as opposed to a consonant (the other letters)

@@sportsjefe He's asking if the serial number contains a vowel because sometimes the solution changes if it does. Specifically with Simon Says, as the correct color to press changes entirely if the serial number contains a vowel.

Thank you for showing the manual, I almost never see it from this side, and it's the side I want to play the most. 10:54 Needy Knob was pointed Right relative to the Up Position. (you needed down relative to it), 46:48 Minutes in, yeah that's what I think I said last game as well. If there is one wire left and it isn't done yet, cut it. 50 Minutes in, 3 Modules and 5 Gas Vents.... Wow. That's how they get you with 8, you only have to actually solve 3 puzzles but there are 5 needy annoying time-wasting things, man.

The most clutch I've seen on a stream of this game (with modded modules) was the defuser being told that they had to release a button when there was a 9, but there were only eight seconds left. He released it and matched on the fractions of a second.

For complicated wires, maybe don't mention what is not there? You wouldn't go "red wire, light, star, no elk" for some reason.
