Perfect timing on another great vid Julie. Our class this week was entirely at center and I discovered my biggest issue was with balance and the wobbles. I will use these tips to strengthen those areas the best I can. Thanks!

Jim Norton these exercises are very good. I did similar ones almost daily for a couple of years and now I have crazy good balance. The wobbles go away gradually.....and just about completely......with time.

That's ok! We all start somewhere :) Work for a couple of weeks standing on one leg with your eyes open to build the ankle and core strength (and ALL the other muscles involved with a simple one-leg stance), and then slowly progress to closing your eyes to add in the proprioception work. That's totally ok! As an example of a time I had to do something similar and start slow, I had a back injury from weight lifting, so bad that I couldn't sit or sneeze without pain. When I went to the chiropractor, he said my core was so weak that the starting point he gave me for physical therapy was simple breathing exercises laying on my back. Boy did I have to eat a slice of humble pie to force myself to start there, but I was in so much pain that I was desperate enough to try what I thought were incredibly elementary exercises. And sure enough, after a couple of weeks of working slowly and carefully, we progressed through different core exercises week after week. Eventually, after about 9 months of that slow and detailed work, the pain subsided and the injury healed, and now, I have an immense understanding of my core and am in a better place than when I started. But, I'd be lying if I said it didn't bruise my ego to start all the way back there with the exercises! So long story short, I hope that story inspires you to meet your body where it's at, and start working with where you are, knowing and believing that your work will help you keep improving! I believe it can, and have seen it all improve with a little work every day! Happy dancing :) -Julie
