Sarah, the narration on this video was simply amazing. As professional as I've ever heard and it brought me into your story which isn't an easy thing to do. Outstanding job on this video and yes do not take your front porch view for granted as that's as good as it get in my opinion. Thanks for taking us along on this plane ride.

What a beautiful flight! I’m with Brandon, I’m so scared of flying. I have to be medicated to get in a plane! Quite the memory to have! I am so scared of heights but I went parasailing with my youngest granddaughter on her graduation trip to Florida. I was scared spitless, but I’m so glad we have that memory together.

My sister knew I wanted to jump out of an airplane so one day she calls and says, it is time. We went tandem, each with our own instructor attached to our back and jumped at 8000 feet. Sarah, when I saw you land with that big beautiful smile, it reminded me of my sis and I, smiling for the rest of the day. There truly is not anything that compares to flying in the open air, feeling the wind and enjoying what God made from such a lofty perch.

Every time I view one of your videos, I get flashbacks of some of my trips to Fontana. A hiking buddy of mine and I hiked from Clingmans Dome down Welch Ridge Trail to Hazel Creek Trail, and then ferried a cross to the marina, and eventually hiked down below the dam to camp for a couple of nights with our spouses. Charlie and I set up our camp. I took a shower at the bath house. when I came out, Charlie was tossing small cookies to some skunks and leading them out of the campground. They had attached my back pack! Just another old memory. PS I have a pilot license, I understand and feel some of those same feelings when I fly over something as beautiful as Fontana dam and Fontana lake. Thanks for sharing your videos. Love them all. Thanks again.

Great video, you are living the dream we had in our early years. We just didn't have the technology to make off grid work, or the means to make a living. I assume Brandon's job came before the house... My dad owned a Breezy, a bigger & faster version of that plane w/o floats. The hard part was getting the bugs off your teeth. He was a crazy pilot but very proficient. We lived just off the Mississippi river and a road ran down the levee and he would fly below that road and we would wave up at the cars while we were gathering corn tassels in the wheels... We used to trout fish below Greers Ferry Lake Dam at Heber Springs, AR. We had a beautiful waterfront lot on the lake for a few years before we realized that it would be years before we could build on it, so we sold it. Worst decision we ever made... The morning fog on the river below the dam had some interesting effects with those fishing's heads only sticking up out of the fog, then the bodies slowly appearing as the fog dropped down and disappeared. There is a hatchery so the fishing was good for rainbow, with a few browns mixed in. We will try again to make it to Fontana next spring. I assume the area is starting to slowly come back together. It is amazing how many pitched in and worked together to make it happen. Political parties disappear when disaster happens.

My daughter and her boyfriend have a 4 passenger side by side (kind of like a dune buggy). My husband and I went to visit them this summer and they invited us to go drive the dunes. I’m not very adventurous, but I didn’t want to hurt her feelings. We went around and up and down at a reasonable pace for at least an hour when her boyfriend asked if we were ready to go faster…ummmm, I guess so? He put ‘er in high gear and went whipping around the various bushes and up and down hills. I found myself laughing and whooping hysterically. It really made me feel like a kid again! My daughter’s jaw dropped to see her “serious” mom cackling with glee. Maybe I could still handle a roller coaster…?? I’m loving your videos. I’m sorry it took horrific Helene to find your channel, but I’m enjoying the scenery of your neck of the woods. Congrats on all your accomplishments and good luck with your winter plans.

We took off with the engine, but when we got to altitude, my friend cut power & we soared for what seemed like forever. The only sounds were the wind and the birds flying around us. When we were getting close to ground, my friend looked over at me with a cheeky grin & said that he hoped the engine would start. Of course it did and we landed smooth as glass. Sarah, A two seat ultralight is technically a light sport plane, it does not fall under Part 103 of the FARs. It has to be registered and N-numbered, and requires at least a light sport pilot rating to fly. I have a Quad City Challenger CH-2, and it is a lot of fun, I have several hundred hrs flying ultralight/light sport planes. Like Mark Huneycutt, I started my aviation career flying helicopters in the US Army. I've thought about getting floats for my CH-2, but true amphibious floats(retractable wheels for runway landings) are $$$$$. I'm glad you enjoyed your flight, the scenery is beautiful, and your editing and narration were excellent. Looking forward to the next video.

Hi I love your channel and your content but I’ll have to be that one “guy”. Please remove the audio saying Brandon saying I’ll pay for your gas and he goes flying. That is not permissible for the flying that is being done. The pilot is very likely 99.9999% a standup individual and a great guy. I have no issues with him or what he is doing…. Taking people up on flight and sharing the experience…. That is awesome. This is to keep him out of trouble if the wrong person hears that remark. Even if he does hold a commercial pilot certificate. Which I believe he does based on the other comments, He cannot be compensated to fly (someone else paying for fuel is considered compensation) and offer his own aircraft to carry passengers - that is considered operating an illegal air carrier. It’s just best to remove any audio evidence of compensation. Anyways. Love the video and looking forward to the next one as I do every week. I’m sorry to make this comment.
@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses2 ай бұрын
I certainly do not know the ins an outs of the legalities of flying &/or running a commercial business involving aircraft, but I do know that this guy makes his entire living running a legitimate business where he takes people on flights with him, as do many other businesses in the outdoor adventure tourism industry. For example the same is done on helicopters (I.e helicopter tours), alaskan seaplane adventures, etc. Again i’m no expert, but I am pretty confident that using an aircraft for commercial purposes isn’t illegal, given how many tax paying companies all over the country do it out in the open every day? 🤔

1 little gust of wind, and your dead.. Know a guy crippled himself for life from an ultra light accident just like that on floats.
@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses27 күн бұрын
I am truly sorry to hear about the person you know who had an accident, that is heartbreaking for them & their family. ❤️🩹Unfortunately not just 1 guy, but MILLIONS of folks are crippled & killed annually in car accidents, & yet we don’t give driving on the interstate a second thought haha. If we said no to anything with any reasonably proven risk of bodily harm or death, we ought not be driving, eating red meat, etc. But alas… we all make decisions daily against proven odds of high risk. Statistically speaking, riding in that seaplane was far safer than my daily commute to work. In the end we’re all just insanely lucky for every new day that we wake up above ground & healthy.
@russellburnup193927 күн бұрын
@@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses its a different kind of risk where there can be sudden death from unknown factors because how small and vulnerable it is to weather, and the lack of protection. Its like driving rush hour or interstate with no lights on a motor cycle. As for driving, thats why you chose a safe vehicle, so no its not the same.
