I did this swap on my 13 Gen 1. Had Doug do it as well. I love my Fox recirculating coilovers. Doug is an awesome dude, I was the test mule for the stock with lowers. sucks he moved out of state.

Yeah Doug was a good dude. Not anymore man. He’s developed a pretty bad reputation of of late. Heard he’s no longer doing suspension kits anymore too

I totally undertand the whole budget issue. We all deal with it. I just wanted a gen 1 with the 6.2, so just saved scrimped and waited and finally got the one I wanted. I know its tough but sometimes you just got wait, save and then pull the trigger. I would love to see a side by side cost comparison of raptor clone build to a gen 1 then upgarages shocks, bumps etc and see what the true dollar cost is in the end.

I bought a used ‘15 F150 last year with a bunch of very well done aftermarket upgrades. The front and rear bumpers being two of them. I had no idea who made them until this video showed the Evil Manufacturing logo cutout. What a coincidence.

🤣 that is a coincidence. But I know what you mean. Some companies don’t put their logo on their work.

I have a 2014 Raptor and I also have a full set of Gen 2 raptor shocks/struts. I have the Buckets on order and will be getting them installed in hopefully like 3 weeks. I also think im going to document the process, cause i know there are Gen 1 Raptor guys have or want to do this swap, but there are no videos for us.....

I actually decided just to go back to Jen One stock. So I sold my Gen 2 and the buckets and bought a set of rebuilt gen ones from Texas shock works. My mechanic was busy and had pushed back my install like four times on top of that I wasn't really ready to make a major structural mod to my new to me truck. So I just decided to go back to stock.

@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I just went fox 3.0 with resivor for Gen 1 raptors and up those on. Im not digging the idea of cutting of the front end of my Gen 1 to put Gen 2 shocks on there.

What an awesome page, subscribed about a year ago I think, bought the gen 2 blue suspension, but I can not find the lower control arms ANYWHERE. Any help would be severely appreciated with a commission at this point, looking for both under 800$. Or I’m just stuck.

Reach out to some of the big shops like SVC and RPG. They usually have a ton of take of suspension components ready to go.

Nice video. I’ve been waiting for this to decide if I want to do this mod. Does it require Raptor control arms and spindle?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 3 жыл бұрын
yes, If your doing longer shocks, you need the matching arms and spindles to take full advantage of the shocks travel.

Love the build update on your buddy’s truck. Are you all planning on doing the KHC rear shock conversion bracket? OR Their new 5 link rear end? Those look very awesome!

The 5 link rear end looks killer. Going to be very capable. But a little outside my budget based on what I can see the work will be

Do the new shocks lift the truck 2" as they are 2" taller? & What about the lift from Gen 1 coilovers?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 8 ай бұрын
No. The new shock bucket is taller and the longer shocks are needed to account for the extra height. Once you upgrade the shock bucket, you can no longer use the Gen1 coilovers. They are too short. If you try and install them they will actually lower the truck. But they also won’t sit right in the shock bucket either. So upgrading the shock bucket requires the longer shocks. Can reuse the old and won’t give you extra height. What you do get is more suspension travel.

I broke the piggyback off one of my King 2.5 rears from flexing too much. 2016 f150 long bed running deavers and Gen 2 raptor take off wheels and tires. That sucked! The struggle is real!
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I feel like not enough people are taking about the issues with the rear suspension and a swapped setup. Definitely some changes need to happen to account for the extra travel
@NotAFuckinRaptor
@NotAFuckinRaptor 3 жыл бұрын
A lot of people swap all parts over but don’t account for the raptor axle being 2-3” wider on each side. I see quite a few people with black marks all over their shocks from rubbing. Bora spacer is an easy fix
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 3 жыл бұрын
@@NotAFuckinRaptor spacers are not a good options if you plan to offroad. And I’ve seen rubbing from the leaf packs into the shocks. Only way to fix that is the change the shock mounts up.

The bucket is around $500 and labor wise your looking at a full day : 6-8 hrs of labor.

The money spent on this swap, I’d just give it to Doug for a year to back half, cage and go long travel. I’d like to say Evil has really nice bumpers too.
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 3 жыл бұрын
The money spent on this swap would not even cover the cost of the raw metal needed to back half a truck. Scraptor here has really done it on a budget. Maybe spent $2500 all in by looking for deals and being patient. And he’s been able to keep up on our runs no problem.
@ConcreteButcher
@ConcreteButcher 3 жыл бұрын
Yes,I know what a back half would cost but if he’s going to continue this journey he might as well or maybe be more cost effective for him to go SUA and a bed cage with some bypasses.
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 3 жыл бұрын
Not on his budget. I’ve had this argument with him many times already. Bed cage and shocks will be close to 5k before you consider the installation costs for the welding required. He would also need a Raptor axle and a bump kit further increasing the costs well outside his budget
@Racerx1023
@Racerx1023 3 жыл бұрын
@@ConcreteButcher maybe one day I'll go that route, but it does what I want it to do now and I'm happy with it. Plus, it's cool to still have a functional truck bed when you need it. 🤘🏻
