Really well done videos on this channel. I’ve owned four Raptors, 3 Gen2 and my new Gen3, but still love watching the work you do.

Thanks man. I lot of what we are doing with the gen1 applies to all the models. Very few things don’t.

Hi, I really enjoy your channel, I have a gen 1 raptor 2014, I like to run the same shocks, front and back, are they fox 3.0 ?, thanks.

No. The Gen1 with the stock shock bucket runs 2.5s.

I did a quick search and looks like they focus more on Jeeps and tacos. Not much fast off-roading. Definitely some good out of the box options with tune option. But I don’t see much raptor experience on their site. Or options for a tuning day. I need someone familiar with the raptor, SVC kit on it, and has experience tuning on the trails.

Can you explain the double shock setup up front? Figured the coilovers would need a rebuild as well?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 2 жыл бұрын
Double shocks is part of the SVC mod travel kit. One is a traditional coil over while the other is a bypass. Coilover holds the weight and has some rebound control. But the bypass has a ton more rebound and compressions control so it helps take the load of a single coilover and allows for more tuning. As for rebuild, if you have been following along, we just did a full rebuild on the shocks 6 months ago and that’s when we discovered the bent shafts and damaged cap. Fox took 6 months to get us parts. So front shocks are still too fresh and don’t need a rebuild yet. Maybe in another 6 months if we hit the trails hard.

Nice i was just looking at shops that do rebuilds. Ill check onyx out, im may upgrade my factory 2.5s to the 3.0s and have the 2.5s rebuilt for backups when i need the 3s rebuilt. Man those race series shocks are huge 😆 Great video as always and nice new way of doing each step 👍🏻

Amazing Video! I wish we could do this rear suspension like you guys have it to our Gen1 Raptor but uh, My dad sure needs a lot of convincing to do race series shocks that go through the bed LOL, otherwise amazing video, guys!

Thanks man. They are both a little scared of driving the truck. They have also seen the work and cost of everything so they understand it’s a ways out for them. But when they say they are ready, I’ll be there to help them out.

What do you think is more reliable gen 1 or 2?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Жыл бұрын
Hands down the Gen1 is more reliable. 6.2 engines are almost bullet proof with no known major mechanical issues save for the oil fill tube. Simplified electronics. If I loose a speed sensors she’s fully drivable. On a Gen2, it could strand you when the steering rack stops working. It’s not perfect. It still has its gremlins with the backup camera and other known little issues. But over the last 2 years she’s never stranded me or had any major issues with it.

@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad do you prefer your current gen 1 over your last gen 2 or would you get your gen 2 back if you had the chance?
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Жыл бұрын
I prefer the Gen1. Only thing I miss is the comfort of the g2 interior. It was quieter and the cup holders were better. But there are ways around that and I’ve fixed it on my Gen1. I would not go back to the Gen2 platform because of the eletronic steering racks. That’s the platforms weakest point and there is still no fix for it.

Love the work you are doing but man that Jack. Lol! I’m upgrading to 3.0’s from the OEM 2.5’s. Any things I should expect or need to think about? I’ve got HD+3 Deavers and RPG bumps already.
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad
@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 2 жыл бұрын
🤣🤣 yeah. Trying to droop the suspension can get sketchy. Only thing I would recommend it’s making sure you get 3.0s designed for your truck. Lot of guys try and put Gen2 shocks on a Gen1. It won’t work right unless you cut and install a taller shock bucket.
