This is so real. One thing I have always loved and noticed about Kelis is that despite her separation from Nas you NEVER heard her speak ill of him in the media. I always thought it was because she still loved him and secretly wanted to be back with him, but after this interview it is very clear that she was dealing with a lot of pain. Even in this interview you can see her reliving some of those moments. She is a superstar and I'm so inspired by the strength she displayed during this interview.

When she said her son CHOSE to call his stepdad “Papa” that struck a chord with me. My sister took responsibility for our little cousin (aka my niece) when she was practically a newborn. One day, out of nowhere, I think she was about 3 or 4 years old, she started calling my sister “mommy.” And as she got older, when people would correct her, she would explain that she has two moms. The only reason people are not accepting Nas can be this exact character is because he is an OG rap icon. If everyone can be happy for Ciara and her new marriage and family they should also be happy for Kelis. If Naz was a "new age rapper" like future more ppl would respect her perspective.

I really enjoyed this interview. I respect her transparency, not once did she place the whole blame on NAS, she took responsibility for the demise of the relationship. I dated a Narcissist, it can get really dark and toxic! You will act out of character etc... Crazy, if she didn't speak about the situation, you would've accepted all the rumors about her; she's crazy, golddigger etc...Once you truly heal from a toxic relationship, become self-aware of who you are, it won't matter what people think about you. People will hurt you, God will heal you. People will humiliate you, God will magnify you. People will judge you, God will justify you. Keep having faith (Kelis) God got you no matter what! Keep Nas lifted up in prayer.

Nicole Clark I'm not saying that nas isn't a narcissist as well. He almost has to be to have gotten to the level he is at.. not all narcissism is bad.. this woman is clearly toxic.. but she hides it very very well like most narcissists typically do. You hit the nail on the head... the vast majority of narcissists can bring out the worst in their victim.. I can guarantee that most of toxic the narcissistic behavior she claims nas has, she helped cause. She literally told on herself at the end. When she said she acted a fool and cursed and screamed at him.. and wanted to punch him in his face... the she caught herself and said " I walked away" then nas left.. she took NO accountability for him leaving.. NONE. this is clear cut narcissism..nas was FORCED to leave because of her TOXIC behavior.. then she trashes HIM for leaving.... masterfully.... THAT'S why he filed. ... I went through the exact same thing.. my kids mom is boriqua too... maybe it's that? I don't know lol. Thankfully i got my kid.. . I hope nas gets his son.

I'm glad Kelis has finally told her story. For those wondering why she waited so long or why she didn't mention abuse during the divorce, does it matter? For the record Tina Turner never mentioned being abused until she released her book. Ike and Tina divorced in 1978, her book was released in 1986. While they were married she never called the cops and Ike was never charged with domestic violence. During their divorce proceedings Tina did not mention abuse either.

He not only abused me physically, but he controlled me. Nobody thought i could be in a relationship like that because id always been loud and goofy. Sometimes women look to fix men and forget themselves. It took me being in a coma for 3 days for me to leave and even then i thought about going back. Love is a crazy thing and you can be addicted to a person just like drugs. Plus i felt like no one would believe me because of who he was.

There have been reports out of Atlanta where they lived from restaurant workers and such that say they saw her putting hand on him often. Also, its funny that he just got $30M from a deal selling Ring to Amazon now she popping up wanting more money and now she abused. Not buying it. Because she says it, it doest make it true. Years ago I was in a restaurant in NYC and both Kelis and Nas were there eating. The room stood still when Kelis stood up.. she was stunning. Simply stunning. They were an adorable couple that many saw as a health relationship in Hip Hop but in truth we never knew. And I recall your adorable mother in your Food Network special. She made the pernil and I feel in love with both of your chemistry and love for each other. All I can say is that I hope for the best for Nas, Kelis, your Mom and son.

“ I wouldn’t start it but I’ll participate in ended it.” Felt that deep in my soul. Kelis is such a Leo woman ♌️👑.

I Really Really respect her Artistry.. She sets trends in fashion & if she were to get into designer clothing I think she’d be bigger than or just as big as Michael Kors! I wonder if she knows this . She’s so Humble

Yessss I've always loved and admired kelis she's so fashion forward it's crazy how the people who really set trends just fallback and let society run with them. #bossvibes

@@AA-qb7ni Well let's see..........different genres of music throughout her album releases and her sense of fashion which I'm not too aware of but could believe the ones mentioning that.

For people that think she is lying. She was married to him and has been with him for a very long time. What can she gain from lying ?
@gnsi5796 жыл бұрын
She can gain a lot...she can clean her image up because she is painted as a crazy bitter ex. Women truly rule the world now bc men do not have an opinion...whatever a woman says is law without any proof. Smh!

This interview is everything we needed right now my goodness. I don’t think she trashed Nas she shared her truth with the fire we only expect from Kelis. I am so grateful for her sharing I wish I could thank her personally.

I believed her once she told the child story. A lot of men like to decide they wanna be fathers then disrupt a child’s whole life because they’re ready.

Thanks Kelis for being so transparent! There’s so many relationships and marriages in the Hollywood world that are living a lie. So many of these women want to live in their truth, but their image has become more important than their peace of mind. I really enjoyed her testimony. Wishing Kelis and Nas the best in their future endeavors ❤️

I hate that people can't separate artists from individuals. Nas can very much be the person she is saying. I've dated an abuser. They all the same and have all the same characteristics. So Nicki left Nas? Mmmmm hmmmmm

I remember when Nicki and Nas got together so many “fans” would go on Kelis page to troll her about that relationship to the point she (Kelis) had to make a statement that she did not care and wanted ppl to stop writing on her page. Now it makes sense. I wonder what Nicki’s story with him is because that ended abruptly and then she went on a hiatus 🤔
