Senior Olympic lifter here. Got myself some Voodoo floss a few months ago, as I was getting into heavier weights and my knees were complaining afterward. It’s been a complete game changer for my post-lifting mobility recovery. Wrapping my knees and doing just five slow, deep, full squats is enough to completely take away any pain or discomfort and makes my knees feel easily twenty years younger. This stuff really does work like magic. Worth every penny and you don’t need to spend money on a physiotherapist.

Did you have success in healing your torn posterior tibial tendon with the floss? I have a hockey injury to my posterior tibial tendon (took a puck to the inside of my skate) from 4 months ago that isn’t healing. Resting it completely to let it heal isn’t an option as I’m very active. The pain isn’t that bad and only presents itself in specific non standard movements so I can work around it but it’s still not healing so I’m looking for whatever I can find to help

YES. From 15:50-end amen, amen, and amen. You can get terrible news from an MRI telling you how awful your joints are but it DOES NOT necessarily mean that it is causing the pain. Pain is from the nervous system. It can be traumatized and sensitized. There may no longer truly be a reason for the pain but your nervous system still shoots out alarms because it remembers the injury. You have to change that information and give it new information. Change how it perceives. I work in physical rehab and I almost groan every time patients say, "I just got my MRI results..." and I try to explain pain and how it works (as we understand it) to help them make good decisions. Can the pain be from an actual physical cause that needs surgery, etc.? Yes, of course. But more often than not it is not the real reason for the pain. It's the traumatized nervous system. Let's retrain that.

They are not on the same page. Ben's a good guy, love him. His system, however, is juvenile compared to how groundbreaking, substantial and pioneering Kelly's work has been. People without a long enough movement background or expertise don't realize this.

@@b-sideplank Kelly's been developing his system much longer than kotg has. Kelly's systems were "juvenile" as well when he was only a few years into as kotg is. Go back and see how much Kelly has removed from his system to fine tune it to where it is today
@powerhouse19812 жыл бұрын
@@b-sideplank kotg gets right to the point for exactly what tons of people need, for free. Im sure Kelly could have told me I need Nordics and tibialis raises, but he didn't help me find that out instantly myself. Sometimes too much information isn't a good thing.
@b-sideplank2 жыл бұрын
@@powerhouse1981 Ben gets right to the point - there is an underlying problem in this perception. For most people, they are looking for "what exercise I can do for X, Y, and Z goals/problem". And that is how all movement/performance coaches approached the issue. And people looking to get solutions from the phsyios/fitness experts also approached (thought about) the problems in the similar way. What Kelly has done is that he provided a new paradigm (the reason why his work has been so influential). You will need to read his seminal book (BSP) to actually understand this truly. The paradigm shift he helped create was to not approach the musculoskeletal health in a "problem-A-solved-by-exercise-X" sort of way. He worked on normative human structure and movements, and their relation to musculoskeletal fitness. People like yourself who are not aware of this or don't understand this (and this is not an insult, no judgment) will naturally appreciate someone showing a bunch of exercises promoted as solving specific issues, because in their minds that is the operating paradigm. But Kelly changed this paradigm, acknowledged by all movement experts/his peers. So, yes, Kelly could have told you about "tibialis raises", but that's not what he does, even though you think that's what he should have offered. What he actually does is far more impactful, if you take the time to learn about it. Also not sure why you seem to imply Ben gives out all information for free, but Kelly doesn't when he has thousands of videos, and a book (which is not free but just a one time payment, and you can read it for free from a library).

I disagree with Kelly saying that the raised Split Squat is not a scaled version of the exercise.. I do agree with the stimulus on the back quadricep and hip flexor to increase 10x but that was always the key in the ATG split squat and by raising the front leg it does regress the amount of force in BOTH the front leg AND the back leg. So I think that raising the front leg is a great regression tbh. Kelly is a legend in the game and I learn a LOT from him and the information he puts out. I just wanted to point out how I felt about what he mentioned there.. @ 4:00 mark
