I just did my half-yearly inventory check last week- i started with 180 products and now I’m down to 158!! I’m hoping to get this number down to 131 by the year-end (but the whole COVID-19 situation is proving to be quite a hurdle in wearing makeup everyday 😕). Also, I’ve been watching (and keeping track) of your makeup inventory ever since you started putting it up. This year, I FINALLY decided to keep an inventory for my collection along with a proper Project Pan. This video made me want to take inventory of my collection and I'm embarrassed. I have 21 eyeshadow palettes,17 single shadows, 6 foundations, 4 concealers, 7 powders, 34 (lip stick, liquid lip) lips, 11 lip gloss, 13 bronzers, 2 blushes, 6 highlighters, 8 eyeliners and 3 mascaras. I think a person needs just one of each, with the exception of eyeshadow palettes.

Aww, don't feel bad! Just start panning and use up what you don't care for much (or vice versa, most loved items). I'm at 3 powders, but the regular one I had been using couldn't be found at the store, so I am using 2 powders I dislike but that also work well together.

When I started my makeup no-buy in January my inventory was at just over $2300 total. Between selling a few new-in-box palettes, decluttering and using up about a dozen products, It now totals $1450. It's crazy how quickly these things can add up and I'm looking forward to having a better curated vanity by the end of the year.

For inventory, I can recommend the app „Snupps“. I first downloaded it so I don‘t buy double ups of nailpolish but now I actually made a folder for almost every product category and also empties, products I have given away etc, so I know what to repurchase and what not.

Here is my inventory: 1 tinted spf for everyday use, 1 concealer (that doubles as foundation when I need more coverage), 1 pressed face powder, 1 blush, 1 black mascara, 3 eyeshadow palletes (20 shadows in total), 3 bullet lipsticks (pinky nude, blue based true red, and a berry/wine color) and 3 glosses (peachy nude, mauvy nude, and hot pink). Even with that paired down "collection" I think I can reduce my eyeshadows because I currently have some duplicates across the 3 palletes I own. When my palletes are panned I will purchase 8 or 10 singles and make my own perfectly personalized pallete. That is truly all I need to keep a balance between my actual lifestyle and my love of makeup.

My biggest problem, I like everything and wear it too. Every time I try to do a declutter, I can't. I pay for my things and because of that, I know I truly enjoy them. If you love them and you use them, then you don't need to declutter! I think people make that mistake and then have regrets. Decluttering is good for your mental space, if your things are making you anxious or giving you decision fatigue, or are expired or unloved... This is a great idea! My collection is somewhat small since I'm a bit of a newbie with more fun products (used to just be a concealer and eyeliner girl), so this idea might not apply to everyone, but I think it would be interesting to take inventory of my eyeshadow shades and see how many warm browns, peachy pinks, shimmery purples, etc. I have so I can be more aware of what I'd actually need from a new palette before I purchase one.

Hi, I really like this video and think it's a very good idea to keep track of what I have and reminding me to use them. I try to go through my products especially my lipsticks and blushes by using a different one each day. It helps that they are similar colours, although I do have my holy grail items which i tend to use more than others. Here are mine after a recent declutter, 151 in all. I like colours so lipsticks, blushes, eyeshadows, eyeliners are what I have the most of. - 28 lipsticks, 6 lip gloss, 11 lip tints, 1 lip liner - 7 single powder eyeshadow, 9 cream eyeshadow, 17 quads, 4 large palettes, 1 eye base - 14 blushes, 3 bronzers, 8 highlighters - 3 liquid foundation, 2 powder foundation, 1 concealer, 4 face powders - 2 eyebrow pencil, 16 eyeliner pencil, 5 liquid liner, 4 gel liner - 5 skin base

My inventory is why I started my project pan back in March. I don’t have all the categories that you do or the same numbers of products in the categories I do have, but I have too many unused liquid lipsticks to keep them all and not start using them. I only have one brow product, one mascara, one foundation one concealor and one powder & will never go above that unless I start making my own YT videos. I have used up one eyeshadow palette as much as I wanted to & decluttered another just because it wasn’t making me happy to have it in my collection. I have also used up one bullet lipstick & working on another along with all of my liquid lipsticks which I believe stand at 4; 3 of which are full sizes and 1 is a mini. I have one lip tint & one gloss. I have one individual blush plus one 6 pan palette and 9 eyeshadow palettes left to get through. As long as the eyeshadows don’t go bad in the next couple of years, I’m ok with slowly working on them until I can get a couple more moved out of my collection before buying more. (Although I’m still eyeing the new Naked UV palette. Pray for me that I stay strong and don’t buy it until I’m done with at least one more palette in my current collection! 😂)

I use the Snupps app to inventory my nail polishes. I kept purchasing the same nail polish because I didn’t know I already had it. When I’m at the store now I can check my Snupps app before I purchase any new nail polishes. I’m getting ready to use it to inventory my eye shadow palettes. Check it out no note pads needed. 😊

I actually just did my mid year inventory as well! I didn’t count palettes because that’s a mess of single shadows and I don’t know how to include them 😅 but I had 97 actual items, again excluding palettes :) this is all my foundations, concealers, cheek products, brow products, puppies ext. it also includes backups of any of those categories. pretty happy with my number and I tend to want to stay under 100. My biggest accomplishment is going from 24 base products (primer, foundation, color correction, powder, concealer) to 10!

Here's my inventory: 1 primer, 1 BB cream, 1 concealer, 1 cream blush, 1 setting powder, 1 bronzer and highlight duo, 1 mascara, 2 eyebrow pencils, 3 eyebrow shadows, 1 eyebrow gel, 2 eyeshadow palettes (one is 9 bright colours and the other one is more neutral), 2 bullet lipsticks (they're basically the same colour cause one is a dupe of the other one) and 2 liquid lipsticks. I'm on a two month no buy right now, and screenshotting all of the palettes I want and putting them in a collage has been really helpful for weeding out ones that are just meh. I still have 7 on my wishlist, but they can wait. My concealers, eyeliners, lip glosses and lipsticks could use some whittling down for sure. Last summer I went on a mission trying to find a new concealer and the perfect shade of lipgloss to replace a discontinued one, and the categories exploded result.

I just did my inventory and I'm not too mad at my numbers (though I did escalate with blush lol). My main focus is using up body lotions because people always gift them to me.😂

I ordered one lipstick n my first ever blush 😆 Now slightly regretting being impulsive over lipstick coz I've more than enough! But right now, I'm kinda loving Rosey brown-mauve tones and made the purchase! I've taken inspiration from u n been working consistently on skincare (finished 2 moisturizers, almost done on the 3rd). Will take inventory of my makeup items n start doing the same ❤️
