Can confirm i was in cutthroat during the time we were allied w/Rot for this DMM and i ended up pairing up with Tomdabom for the fight and they did ddos me as they pmed me to specifially die and i refused and wanted to fight it out but they ended up ddosing me. I recorded everything but they threatned to release my dox and terrorize my family members if i released the video. Glad to see action being taken!

You're kinda wrong here. Even back in the day before the removal of the wilderness, RoT had a reputation for Ddosing Teamspeak and Rival Clan Forums when they would start lose rivalries. For example, they tried to enter the F2p scene when they killed off almost all other P2p clans. They started out around rank 5 and eventually moved up. They started going head to head with the long standing #1 F2p clan at the time which was Echo of Silence. They lost a lot and started crashing EoS' fights. Then eventually moved on to Ddosing their forums and teamspeaks for months until EoS eventually just closed and a lot went to a game called Albion Online.

A cursory google'ing says to look up OSRS Environment Exporter. You can set it up to download data around the game as you explore and it'll make it transferable into a program like Blender where you can model it in 3d. There may be a community of people that release their models freely. I don't know much of anything to help you beyond this unfortunately.

The thing is, this kind of behavior gets exacerbated when real money is on the line. You start to see some of the crazy lengths people will go to. Not that I entirely blame Jagex. In an ideal world, why not offer some prize money in a game people love. But that’s when the bad actors start coming out in droves. Just imagine if osrs gold suddenly had a $0 value. You don’t need to be a genius to figure out how that would affect gold/bot farms.

You are missing some info. I played on the PVP clanning scene since 2006 until about EOC, then came back for like 2015-2018. So i was around during most of ROT's pre Deadman era. They were controversial even before deadman, you'd be scared of joining them because they did DDOS and hack and scam members who left and joined rival clans. They were #1, but toxic as hell, and they were a fully no-honor clan, meaning they never followed the rules other clans did, and didn't bother crashing or ragging anyone in order to win. They were controversial before Deadman, just that they were so in the PVP scene and not known to the average non PVPer

There’s a big gap of information that you’re missing in your timeline. They didn’t just disappear they went to private servers like telos and battlescape. They gained a bad reputation on those servers for DDOSing players for their gear, ragging, and just being toxic. This was in the time where Skype was extremely popular as a messaging service and they had a vulnerability where you could grab someone’s IP just off of their Skype username. This is how they would acquire IP’s (or friends with an admin) to ddos other clans/players in the wildy. Their bad reputation started well before Old School came out.

RoT was always crashing F2P clan wars up at the Greater Demons, when two clans were fighting with a set amount of people, like 50v50 or 100v100, RoT would come crashing with as many people they could muster, in full adamant with Rune Scim, so they werent even "risking". Adamant was like 1/10 the cost of Full Runite.

Its crazy. Back in my day about the worst thing a player could do to someone in a game is scam or hack their account with a keylogger. Either by sending a rat through skype or some other chat or installing a keylog at some net cafe. Or how i got got for the first time by installing a moneymaker\auto miner lol. Now the playerbase is old, most probably in their 20's even 30's, disposable incomes and the way they screw over each other has evolved to the next level. Locking areas down with bots. Ddosing. It's a great idea. But almost impossible with a PC; it isn't your Nintendo Switch. How would they handle a reformat? Switching from Windows to Linux? Playing inside a VM? Maybe they make it Windows only, force you to install some kernal level software to monitor(Look what Riot has done) and it generates a unique ID based on your hardware config. Then what happens if you just take out a stick of ram and generate a "new" hardware ID? You switch out your GFX card and now your IDs don't match, you can't log in. Generally, in life, if you think you've come up with a new idea, you haven't. Someone smarter than both you and I combined has, then he runs it's past the finance team who say "naw, that'll cut into our profit"

I was in both Dynasty Elites & Sanity who were beating ROT at the finals, both times we lost 10k because about half or more of our members mysteriously "lost connection" in the final rounds, jagex did jackshit. It was clearly an inside job, otherwise how else would they get all our IP's so effortlessly. And its not even about the money, we beat them almost every time.

I'm sorry Kemp, but they started cheating WAYYY before DMM. I was a AF/VR senior member for years before DMM. During the Jagex Cups we would start the f2p/p2p 100v100s with example 68 people because 32 of us would get DDOSed even before the 2 minutes timer would be up. (With Jed on their side they had all our static IP members booted out every round). Even years before that, we would have run-ins at GDZ and they had returning bots + bought a cheat client from Sovereign Clan, all of their senior members+ would have access which would HIGHLIGHT in massive blue anyone who their invoice caller would attack ingame. Which back then it was all about piling the same people at once f2p/p2p. There was so much more going on than what you've included but yeh. Later in 2018 ModJed banned 20 ish of us in Frontline all on the same date, all for manual perm Ban with no reason whatsoever, I quit after that but yehhh 😅
