If it wasn’t for Ken shamrock I would not have found the ufc and for that I am forever grateful. I was like 9 or 10 at the time and when he came to wwf they made him look like badass he was.

...you wouldve found it.

Him calling Tito Ortiz a punk aged very well.

He's right, Tito vs Shamrock absolutely generated a lot of buzz before it was on cable TV. They got me to watch it.
@killwillv2610Ай бұрын
Absolutely. None of my family let me watch fighting on TV and I still knew who these guys were.

Being a fan back then, while it was clear Tito was a great fighter, you could see he had some holes and there were other more talented guys who would eventually beat him/pass him by. Chuck, Randy, Rampage probably would have beat him if they fought. Ken was great too, but way past his prime by the time he fought Tito. The way Ken and Tito built up and promoted those fights though, it really was the high-point of the coolest, most fun era of UFC imo. Dana should be treating those guys, and a lot of other old school fighters, like MMA royalty.

People should ask Ken Shamrock about how Bart Vale initially marketed himself as the man who knocked out Ken Shamrock. Ken told him to stop or he would fight Bart for real, and not a worked match. Bart immediately stopped the "The man who knocked out Ken Shamrock" stuff.

reminds me of bret hart at the end. and at the point tito and ken where doing their dance, Ken had already been through CAMP WWF. People want to think Cheal Sonnen did the wwf promo stuff first. Nah
