I am in Dhulikel, a small mountain town about 1.5 hours away from Kathmandu. Unfortunately, after arriving here, it rained straight for about 3 days. So, I couldn't really explore the mountain areas the region around Dhulikel has to offer. When the rain stopped after a few days, I came out to explore and stumbled upon the Tik Tok burger house right in the center of Dhulikel. The next day I had to head back to Kathmandu, so I asked you guys on my Instagram if I should take a taxi or the local bus from Dhulikel to Kathmandu. Great video Ken Buffalo meat is great. In the West we have become so used to grain fed beef that we have forgotten the intense flavour of grass fed meat. It makes an incredible lasagna if you ever get the chance

Ken, guten tag! If your mouth is on “fire” after eating something spicy & “hot” (it would be interesting to know what the Scoville units of the chilli paste they used) then the best “cure” is drinking hot water or any hot drink as it will quickly “wash” away the capsaicin oil of the chillis (which causes the sensation of burning to the tissues it comes into contact with) which coats the inside of the mouth. Drinking or eating anything cold, like ice cream, is not so effective, ya ya.

thank you Ken!! just love all your happy countenance and the bus journey is precious right? sometimes, local buses also ferry animals together- that's the classic!! and i thought even the top of the bus can houses people! glad its now changed. for safety reasons of course. half way watching your vid. can relate and... thank you again! hmmm.... so far you have not explore the countryside and villages yah. I bet this will be another highlight if you are planning to do so! choose the shorter routes but usually crowded.. ask around for good, and less touristy village walks; yup, you did the nagarkot one but that doesn't even fit in the Nepal rural villages description! :P one more thing: is it safe that you put out your camera or tripod while the bus is moving?? hard to imagine. and a second thing: if you by chance find a peddler selling cucumbers, sliced half and they put some salt and chilli (usually en route in bus trip), you can try it! can't eat similar thing anywhere else.. haha GL

Tik Tok Burger house....what a wonderful name !!! Oh gosh, it's too bad that the level of spiciness caused you unable to finish the noodles. Luckily, you do have naan. Haha..good that you found a popsicle to help you clear the burning sensation in your mouth. 👍👏 A great experience indeed taking that local bus back to Kathmandu. I missed riding on this type of bus 😂 That 2nd helper on the bus is known as a bus conductor. Nice scenery and views along the journey though the leg space is a bit too narrow for a 1.90m guy 😅😊 Thanks for the room tour...room is nice, quite spacious and looks comfy. while in Nepali restaurants its always good to say how you want your food to be spiced. Since for many its the first time you are having such food you can tell the waiter to make it less spicy or more spicy. Or ask him how spicy it is going to be. Sometimes for some food like hot aalu in Patan it is already readymade so they can't reduce the hot spices but then they can give you alternatives. Or they can say thats how it is and you may have to look somewhere else for less hot or spicy food. All the best

Great video Ken, I've just returned from Nepal. If the food is too spicy, ask the staff for a Lassi. It's a yogurt based smoothie type drink which will immediately cool your mouth and take away the burning sensation!
