I knew exactly what you were up against. Mink are voracious predators but aren’t large enough to eat the entire bird. They also don’t cache their kills so they just keep coming back. I have trapped hundreds of them here in MN when I trapped years ago. Good money in the 60’s thru the 80’s but not worth much now.

About two years ago, we had our own experience at our house. It ended up killing 12 chickens before we got a master trapper to trap it. It turned out to be a Mink we had trail camera set up and caught him killing two chickens in one night. We ended up trapping him, and I have him on my wall. Most of the time, grass will grow over it anchoring it down. Same with perimeter fence, set on outside, but sometimes would bend a foot of it to make curve a foot deep

I don't have minks where I'm at, and I wasn't aware mink could climb very well. I was expecting it to be racoons. I've had a lot of chickens killed by racoons and they are some of the most persistent critters I've seen around.
