Psycho ex-boyfriend with black truck who knows she's moved on and having a baby with another man plus has just discovered one child he thought was his, isn't...or 11 year old boy with no motive or criminal history. Wow. Tough one.

Agreed. I don't even know if Adam was the murderer. He could have been. Certainly a more reasonable suspect than Jordan. It does sound like there should have been more investigation into Adam, but the real miscarriage of justice is what happened to Jordan, in my opinion.

Also did the police look enough into it? Seems they took the "evidence" in the house pretty lightly and wasted a lot of time trying to pin the child instead of looking more into other possibilities.

A lot of the comments are saying he couldn't have done it because he's 11...James Bulger's killers were 10, Mary Bell was 10. Sometimes children do kill. Jordan didn't, but some kids do, some kids are crazy!

Psychology has shown that police should only interview children one time and record it, using that recording as the kid's testimony at trial, and if it is necessary to reinterview the child, don't ask the same questions. When kids are asked the same questions over and over, they're going to change their answer because they think they answered incorrectly or didn't give the answer the person was looking for. This is something that's used in school all the time: a teacher asks the class a question, the class gets it wrong, the teacher gives them some sort of help to find the right answer, then reasks the question to get the correct answer. Police can't treat children the same way they do adults, it doesn't work.
@Suricious
@Suricious 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I had to get interviewed when I was younger and I was about 9-11 but I got interviewed by police and by investigators or whoever they were I can't remember but they both asked me questions I had already answered, being the only witness it scared me that I thought I answered wrong and I changed my story a bit, but as a child it should be made sure that even if you're an older kid you should be asked questions by someone who is trained to ask kids these types of questions, not a police officer who deals with adults
@sumi1333

I agree, especially since it is said that multiple adults were interviewing the kids, which just puts more pressure to the kids to try to say what the adults want to hear.

I mean, If there was actual physical evidence then I would side with them, but the fact there was no evidence and it was all based on the police taking the easy way out... Children are capable of murder - look at the case of James Bulger, 2 kids tortured and killed him. But there was actual evidence to convict them. In this case there was no actual evidence. I've watched this video a few times now and each time I'm like why wasn't his hands checked for gun powder residue? Yet the dad was and they ruled him out so I feel if they had actually checked the kid when they arrested him it could have actually been sorted that night.

And why did Kenzie ask him to stay home THAT day? She still had two weeks to go. Why did she not want to be alone that day? Because her ex was gunning for her and probably made a very recent and specific threat. I'm guessing checking phone records wasn't necessary after all their hot shot detective work sniffing guns, looking at snow and testing laundry piles for GSR.
@fidelianerina
@fidelianerina 2 жыл бұрын
I partly agree. I had thought that too at first. Like it seems weird that day specifically she wanted him to stay home. Almost like she wanted protection because she feared something would happen. With how heavily pregnant she was, she probably wouldn't be able to run very fast and protect herself and her 4 year old daughter. However, the only part that makes no sense to that theory is, if she had a feeling her ex would be there, why not have told Chris why she wanted him to stay home?

If they had said Jordan and Kenzie didn't get along or there were some other familial issues between them THEN I could see Jordan as a suspect. That was never the case, it seemed as though they really loved one another. Also, the other kids would have said there were issues because kids will say everything that happened. her parents blaming Jordan it's almost like THEY didn't like the kid because he was the STEP child. That's not fair to him. He was 11 years old and with her death it's like he lost his Mom. She was the only Mom that he knew, so why would he kill her? he was excited for the baby coming and they all got along. But, for her parents and the police to automatically point fingers at him and say "you did this" is like telling the child he's unwanted in a way. It's BULLSHIT and I am glad his Father stood by his side in all of this. Makes me wonder if the killer was already in the house and she asked him/her to allow the children to leave first. . . I can't recall if they said they "saw" her when she told them to go to school or if she called it out from another room. She was asleep by all counts until they heard her tell them to go on out to the school bus. A good mother, which she was by all accounts, would try to get them out of the house when faced with a potential violent situation. . . Just too many questions left unanswered

@@AmbassadorofKing This was my thought as well.. maybe someone (personally I think the ex boyfriend should be looked at more closely, maybe he had some police connections) went into the house after Chris left for work. Early in the morning, before the tree trimming folks got there, but after the kids left for school. Unless I missed it, neither of the kids said they saw the tree trimmers before they got on the bus, but Jordan said he saw a black truck parked outside. I do not believe an 11 yr old could have done this with such precision & went to school like nothing happened. I'm assuming his teachers noticed nothing out of the ordinary. I find it incredibly suspicious that the police didn't process the crime scene for prints. This again makes me think that maybe the ex boyfriend had some connections. A single gunshot to the head to a pregnant woman in her bed by a random person, no motive, no break in, nothing stolen/missing, seems highly unlikely. Execution style killings are pre-planned usually and the ex boyfriend had a violent history of threatening to kill her and her entire family. And he had just found out that one of the kids wasn't his, so he had motive. If he was in the house after Chris left, then he would have easily had access to the guns. He could have even been casing their house to get a feel for their schedule, I mean we just don't know. But the ex certainly had means, motive and opportunity to carry it out. I'm puzzled as to why he was eliminated so very quickly, given the violent history of death threats AND the fact that he drove a black truck which is what Jordan said he saw outside on the way to school. And I agree w/ you about a killer waiting for the kids to leave - I would even further speculate that someone who cared about those kids didn't want them to be traumatized or to have that kind of memory. I hope and pray that whoever did it will be brought to justice.

Grown people kill others and get caught but an 11 year old had the mental aptitude to kill someone, leave no evidence, leave for school and go on with his day. 🤦🏽‍♀️ pinning the crime on someone that young may have seemed like a slam dunk but the best thing is his father never gave up on him. I think the family may have discussed their concerns about his attitude and being an unhappy child and that lead them down that path. Kids usually have attitudes doesn’t make them killers.

Then change the current system where if a child backchats a teacher and doesn't immediately listen, just as one example, the POLICEMAN who is the security, takes them to spend an hour or two in real solitary in a real prison. Then they wonder why that same kid has a 50/50 chance of making that their home as an adult. That needs to change - make the punishment fit the crime and the age, period. If it does not change, look at the parent, because the child is the result, the product, not the cause.

Right?! oh they definitely would end up confessing- the tactics that police interrogators have will get smart, prepared adults with experience with police to confess- it’s hard for me to imagine an 11 year old having the cognitive ability to lie through an interrogation, especially without any former issues (no fighting or history or abuse, he was a good inmate, no other signs of psychological problems that would cause an 11yr old to murder). Also I think 4 year olds will def remember events like that... I remember some preschool and kindergarten events that weren’t traumatic.

Fun fact I work in Ex parte's aka restraining orders and that's not necessarily always the case. On the initial order that the respondent is served with doesn't have to have the address on it. If the petitioner (the one filing) requests that the address remain confidential we put "ADDRESS NOT TO BE DISCLOSED" rather than putting their address on the form. But regardless the respondent is not allowed within 1,000 ft of the petitioner no matter where they are.

@@aliciap8583 Thank you for your insight. I know when I was seeking to get a restraining order against my abuser after escaping their house the cops and the judge suggested for me to not get it because of that barrier. Plus my abuser doesn't know where I am located. I guess that's not the case for everyone. I just know restraining orders don't always protect people ultimately. According to National Library of Medicine it's been reported that 11% of women are killed by their abuser that were issued a restraining order. About one-fifth of the female IPH victims who had a restraining order were killed within 2 days of the order being issued; about one-third were killed within a month (2008).
