The point is that op is implying that trusting a 17 year old to take care of a 5 year old is basically just asking for something bad to happen. In reality a lot of people start babysitting at 14-16 and are trusted to take care of kids that age all the time, and in some situations late into the night. Let's be honest, the actual problem op has is that the 25 year old father was dating a 17 year old, just like pretty much everybody else in the comments.

Maybe Misty actually did leave the kids alone that night because 17 year olds on drugs do stupid things. Maybe she left the door unlocked to get back in and Haliegh woke up before she got back. Maybe she thought Misty was outside having a smoke. If she walked out the door to look for Misty or her dad in the middle of the night, so many things could've happened. She could've wandered off and got lost, she could've been abducted by a malicious opportunist, she could've fallen into a hole and injured herself for all we know. It reminds me of the time my almost 5 year old did something similar. She never leaves the house without an adult, but there was one morning when she woke up and couldn't find me in my room (i was in the bathroom) so she went to check outside because she panicked and thought she was alone. I'm sitting on the toilet at 5 AM and I hear the front door unlock and open **cue heart attack**, so I rush out to see what's going on, and she's in the front yard looking for me by herself in the dark. She hated the dark, but she hated being alone more, so she decided to go search for me. That being said, I think it's definitely a possibility in this case that Haliegh left the house on her own. Especially since there doesn't seem to be any evidence that something happened in the house, nor evidence of a clean up. The parents are clearly hiding something, but it's hard to tell if they're hiding a death, or neglectful parenting and drug activity. Or both. I don't know, I'm just throwing spaghetti at the wall at this point. No matter the circumstances, it's just tragic. I hope they find that beautiful baby and bring her home soon.
@anonymous-poet4 жыл бұрын
Well said. Seems very likely that's why Misty can't settle a story. She definitely knows it's HER fault, but she has no idea where that poor little girl is. If the story of Misty taking her to a party was true, then that just makes me wonder where she left Ronald Jr. during that time. Whichever story might be true, every version paints her into a corner.

I agree that she could’ve wandered off by herself probably trying to find someone. My old history teacher who is an ex cop told us a story of a little boy who got out of his crib, unlocked the door and began to wander outside. This was on Christmas. Luckily he wasn’t really alone, the family dog was with him. But when my teacher found him, the kid was only in a diaper and is 2 at the time. When my teacher asked why he was by himself, he said he had to tell Santa thank you for the presents. My teacher did bring the kid home safely but the parents had no idea he had gotten out and that he was missing.

Yeah, they only have a 50/50 accuracy rate. A lot of the time people fail because they're scared, getting anxious, ect.
@Crazydoglady4444 жыл бұрын
Polygraph tests do not measure a persons anxiety or stress. They measure a response in part of the brain that controls “thinking.” And the part of the brain that measures memory. The thinking/storytelling part of the brain would give a big reaction. When they should get a reaction in the memory part of the brain. Polygraph tests are actually VERY reliable. I would need to look it up, but it’s over 95%. They are only not admissible in court because they are not 100% accurate. Any testimony or evidence HAS to be 100% accurate! You have to prove without a doubt to find someone guilty. Anything less than 100% leaves doubt and can not be used as evidence.
@heatherroehr28024 жыл бұрын
@@Crazydoglady444 That is not accurate. I would love to know your sources. First, polygraphs have absolutely NOTHING to do with measuring anything with the brain. Polygraphs measure heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and skin conductivity (sweating). A simple Google search will confirm this for you. The idea behind a polygraph is that people will have a physical reaction to lying. Hence, a person with anxiety is more likely to have unreliable results. Although baseline questions help monitor and account for ordinary stress levels, it is much less than 95% effective. Second, polygraphs are inadmissible because they are not generally accepted in science. That is the legal standard to be admitted. (See Federal Rules of Evidence). Plenty of less than 100% reliable evidence is admissible. For example, a psychiatric diagnosis based on DSM criterion. These diagnoses are not 100% reliable, but are admissible because it is a methodology which is generally accepted by the field. Science can never be 100% certain or accurate. So the law asks only whether it is widely accepted as a methodology in the field. Polygraphs are not.

Similar to how OJ was acquitted for the Nicole Brown Simpson trial, but given that crazy sentence for the trophies scandal; they were indirectly punishing him for the death Nicole & Ronald.

That interview was especially weird. I really feel like she had something to do with it. I think she went out just like the little brother said and something happened, or she took her to that party. My uncle (by marriage) was her cousin and I can’t say this is fact however most everyone in town believes she overdosed and the minty girls brother got rid of her body. That’s what I believe as well. I’ve heard it all from the family owing drug debt and giving haleigh up to clear debt to her being fed to alligators to cover their tracks. It’s so sad and will always stay with me. The court will send a mother to jail for denying reasonable parenting time. I called the cops on my ex several times if I thought he was too intoxicated to take her and every time they would tell me that I can't deny him her if it's his weekend. I had to go through the courts to petition and was denied. I had to eventually contact CPS. It's so much more complicated being able to keep your child from the other parent than you would think. I was shocked when I went through it, as I wouldn't have believed it had I not lived it.

The mother was on drugs as well. Did you not watch the video she lost custody
@GlitterGlamGal3 жыл бұрын
@@LauraVittadini I think it’s a very difficult issue to address legally as one of the main reasons this is enforced is due to extremely high rate of parents( usually mothers) that think once a relationship breaks down they have the right to deny the child/ren access to the other parent. Most of the time it is done from a malicious intent. If you have a relationship end and believe your child/ren are in genuine danger or at risk CPS must be notified and involved from the start, you cannot just deny your child/ren their right to a meaningful relationship with both parents just because you are angry or hurt. This is when the child/ren suffer much more than either parent.
