She roars her way through live shows with these long distorted notes, and they used to do like 150 shows a year. She has also been doing this since a rather early age. Obviously she has to be very particular about the technique. My favourite blatant example of her vocal style is when she went to a country music award show, in front of exclusively country fans, and performed a song with Eric Church. He has this speech-like nasal vocal quality, the song is pretty clean country-rock. And she steamrolls it. Eric Church Thats Damn Rock n Roll ft Lzzy Hale - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ_VZYuCZc6WeJo

Completely live recording. Drums have audio baffle screens around them to help separate them from the rest of the mics. He's also using rods instead of sticks, which dampen the drum sound a lot. Hope you don't mind the input. Always enjoy the reactions 🙂

Please please please please.......react to Halestorms live performance of “Familiar Taste of Poison” from the Jimmy Fallon show! So that's her brother Arejay on the drums. I believe this performance are what they call scratch tracks for what would later become the studio version. This is done by lots of bands to give the audio engineer and the artist guide tracks to work from. There is no way this is her lead track on the final studio version. But there are a lot of parts that they probably did keep possibly the bass guitar and maybe even the electric guitar. Usually when the full band is playing they're going for the drum track. But usually the drums are in an isolated booth. So I don't know. All I know is this kick butt.

Lzzy have such a powerful voice, I love that final high-pitched screams. Had a similar concern about the drums the first time I watched it. She performed in a cover of Duran Duran's Come Undone by Adrenaline Mob and it's such a nice band that don't get that much love. I would love to see you react to All on the Line by them (watch?v=xJazZr6D9wk). Russell Allen have such a beautiful timbre.

Trivium among the Shadows and the stones... Mr. Heafy have learnd to take care of his voice, i guess it was around 2017, he feel during a live concert, that his voice hurts and the power moves away, then he choos to take a vocal coach (dont remember his name) and he came back better then before.. And that makes me happy because he have such a unique voice from clean to Scream.. Check him out.. Great person and great frontman

So happy to hear your thoughts and reactions to it! Thanks for giving it a look. :) Believe it or not, there's a second take right after this, that's her doing it acoustic! That was actually the version I was hoping you'd react to, though this is awesome as well because you can compare the two takes and see what changes. I think it's neat that in the acoustic version, she doesn't have a guitar in-hand, but is still playing it anyway from muscle memory. Lzzy Hale (yes, that's how she spells it!) is just amazing, a real force of nature befitting the name Halestorm. Acoustic take: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opDPf4eihcRmeNE

First of all, it's always nice watching your content cause it's fudging wholesome. Second, I would listen to Halestorm - Slave to the Grind Live in Lubbock for that intro she pulls off (the drum solo in the beginning is skipable imo). Maybe do that on your free time, aswell as their cover of Straight through the Heart in Kiwanee. The audio quality is sadly kinda shit so might not be the best videos, but you can really hear the talent she has so it's still worth a listen for yourself I myself am not a fan of Halestorm at all, but Lzzy has some serious talent and one can always appreciate that

If u look at what the drummer is using instead of sticks he's using a bundle of little dowels bound together. I can't remember what they are Called but they don't hit as hard as sticks so that might be why they aren't isolating the drums.
