I attended a Kenny Loggins concert at Madison Square Garden in 1978. We were enjoying his songs, happily singing along, when the crowd erupted as they escorted Stevie Nicks on stage. With her signature long flowing dress, wide brimmed hat, and unique sultry voice, she left an unforgettable image. Their duet was the highlight of the evening.

Played the "45" to death in grade 10 ( sooo many years ago!). A great song by 2 of the best in the business. Never really gets old....this song is the true definition of "timeless". Ohhhhh, the poor younger generations today. They've got no " substance" to listen to ( unless they're listening to an " oldies" radio station). Lol
@sallyfreeman99712 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. But I think I used to have the 45 also. I was a sophomore when this song came out. I'm listening to it on a CD I got at the library this weekend.

The younger generations are lucky though cause we get to listen to old and new songs with substance cause of today's technology. I mean I found this and I listen to "oldies" too. This song was released just a few years after my parents were born.

In high school I met a lot of mean, nasty people. And then I heard this song. Stevie, Kenny, and their band were a breath of fresh. This song made my day many times when I was a freshman in high school. Thank you, Kenny, Stevie, and band! You are awesome! And I still love this song after all of these years.

I was in elementary, and in music class students could bring in 45's on Fridays and play them throughout the class period. This was one of them, that was until Carters desegregation act. Because we could not agree on the music, there were complaints, Ms. Mrosic thought it best she stop the practice. I did save money because I did not buy as many records after that.

Beautiful, inspiring song. If you heard this song as a kid, I bet it stuck with you! I haven’t heard it in decades...made me smile. Incomparable vocals, but also that funky bass. Drum part/mix at beginning reminds me a bit of Paul McCartney’s Take it Away (vibe at the beginning) but this was 4 years earlier...

I was leaving the store a few days ago and heard this after so many years. I had no idea who sang it and always thought they were talking about sax on a Saturday night. I've listened to it a hundred times in the past few days because it's such a beautiful sentiment and I'm obsessed with the good feeling it gives me. Edit: I just watched a video with Kenny and the beginning of the song was inspired by the Beach Boys. Melissa Manchester (co writer) was supposed to sing it but when Stevie offered he couldn't resist. Also he originally wrote the song for Michael McDonald to sing but Michael didn't understand it.
