Those of you that are reading us my dad passed away last month. This song will always be our father and son song. Growing up he and I loved watching Sylvester Stallone movies and this one was one of my favorites and just like Sly in the movie, my dad was an 18 wheeler truck driver as well, the movie reminded me so much of him and the kid that played his son reminded me so much of me. This song will always mean a lot to me and will always make me think of my dad. I miss you and I love you so much Dad.

My father took me to see this movie with him as a child. My parents were just freshly divorced at that time. This movie was a beautiful story between a father and son. My dad loved this movie. As I get older I really appreciate it. This song is so beautiful as well and fits the film perfectly. This last December my dad passed away unexpectedly. Today was his birthday and I looked this song up because it reminds me of him and our bonding during that hard time. I can’t stop tearing up listening to this. ❤️

Kenny, I can’t believe you’re here, but since you are, know that if I would to become a singer - hopefully possessing vocal talents on the level of your standard- I would want to get you on a record along with Stevie Wonder and Lisa Keith; that’s how highly I think of you. Was moved by this song growing up. Last week, my dad and I watched "Over the Top," and I'll respect those who disagree, but that movie moved me and this song contributed to that greatly.

Well, I agree this is one of the many feel good movies. The father and son bonding, the death of the mother and the rich vindicative grandfather trying to tear them apart. The father's willingness to sacrifice his own happiness to protect his son and the son discovering his grandfather's treachery and then chasing after his dad. Then the dad overcame his own insecurities and kicking ass. And then taking the prize money and his son and starting their life together. This is a movie that every father and son needs to watch together and especially listening to Kenny Loggins song 'Meet me Halfway'

The father to son speech that Sylvester gives to his son after he loses the arm wrestling match still gets me. Reminds me of my dad who is no longer here. Over the Top is an amazing movie and to me it's about a relationship between a father and son and not arm wrestling.

I was born in 82 and loved every minute of the 80's. Ive often said itvwas the best for music in pretty much every music genre and for movies too. The 90's had some good stuff too!! The greatest thing was people were more genuine, original with their music, film, and everything else!! Nowadays people just copy or remake everybody else's work!! May you all have a great blessed day, stay safe, and god bless!!

In a lifetime Made of memories I believe In destiny Every moment returns again in time When I've got the future on my mind Know that you'll be the only one Meet me halfway Across the sky Out where the world belongs To only you and I Meet me halfway Across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life. In a lifetime There is only love Reaching for the lonely one We are stronger when we are given love When we put emotions on the line Know that we are the timeless ones Meet me halfway Across the sky Out where the world belongs To only you and I Meet me halfway Across the sky Make this a new beginning of another life.
