Defense doesn't have a chance, the state gets all the resources, all the leverage, and gets to decide what does or does not need to be shared at discovery especially if it's exculpatory evidence. It's considered a Brady violation now (because it happened so much it was made a law) but it can take years to find out they didn't tell the whole truth, or withheld, meanwhile that person, whom actually is innocent, rots in prison, dies, or has their whole life taken away.

The allegation is the Judge was engaging in sexual activity with the Sheriffs underage daughter, the fact the uncle mentioned her seems to slightly point to credibility on that front. I'd love to hear from the Sheriff on his motivations or from the daughter of the Sheriff. If the allegations are true the Sheriff did his job and he did it right, let him get back to work after throwing an award ceremony for him. If it's not the prosecution REALLY needs to get ahead of this rumor otherwise people might show up at the trial in protest en mass. As someone who has been through something similar I'd like to tell you something though. It's inappropriate to demand the victim who's a child make a public statement, your response reminded me of the police who let the pedophile away the night I called the cops because I was afraid to testify. Not going to come at you for it, but you need to think before you post. The prosecutor, the former sheriff/suspect are the ones who should comment on the motivations not a child who if the allegations are true is a victim.

Backwoods law can be very appropriate in some situations. If he's found not guilty of "murder", then he should be reinstated and recognized for doing his job he was appointed to do; uphold the constitution, assist protect and defend the citizens of his community from violence, threats corruption. And add in overturning the litigation of him being derelict in duty response to allegations toward THAT judge. Even in KY, we would have filed against the Judge for the accused crime, not the cop who didn't pursue investigation....
