Hello my fit family! I have an incredible recipe! These tortillas are the closest to the original corn tortillas we are used to. Believe me there is no other recipe for tortillas more similar to corn tortillas than this one. They are flexible and very, very delicious 😋
Ingredients for tortillas: 1 cup almond flour 35 grams of ground chicharron
3 tsp psyllium husk
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp xanthan gum
1/2 cup egg whites
2 tbsp almond flour at the end to knead
MACROS: (totals are for the entire portion of dough, depending on how many tortillas you get, you will devide the macros to get the total per tortilla)
Calories: 995
Net carbs: 19
Protein: 58.5
Fat: 70.5

Love these tortillas!!! I always double the recipe and make them on Sundays to stay on track throughout the week! Perfect bacon, cheese and avocado tacos! I’ve deep fried them into tostadas for ceviche de camaron and have made them into chips with some cheddar and onion powder and so close to Doritos!! 😋 don’t think I could’ve stayed on track without all your yummy Recipes!! Made your tortillas today for a Mothers Day feast of carne asada, cauliflower Mexican rice, and sopapilla cheesecake bars (all keto), and the only thing I did different from your tortilla recipe was added 1 tsp of sweet corn extract. FINALLY someone got it right. I like food that has taste and all the over tortillas recipe tasted to much like egg or almond flour, I JUST CAN'T ANYMORE!!!! So after hours of looking and trying other recipes, I stumbled unto yours. I LOVE IT!!!!! I LOVE that the taste is all balance, the pork rinds come out a slight more, but I do not mind at all. Trying this ASAP. I would do it today, but I do not eat pork, so I was thinking about what to substitute for the Pork Rinds. I am going to try using baked crisp, then ground, chicken skins. I hope it will work. They will not have that airy texture, but I think after grinding they will be okay. I can try! This looks like a great recipe! Thank You for the English!
