Between you and Ken Berry this has actually saved my life. I did not start Keto until July 21st 2020. The reason I started keto was to stop the inflammation and joint pain I had. 2 years ago a doctor told me I was bone on bone and needed double knee replacement or a wheelchair. Since starting keto my knees mo longer hurt my hands can grip tools again. I did not do keto for weight loss I did it for pain relief. I have gone from 270 plus pounds to 228 pounds in 6 months. My 100 yard run is equivalent or better than alot of NFL players. I am 51 years old. Thank you for saving my life.

That's amazing! I eat this way for health benefits too - decrease inflammation. I started keto to lose weight but realized I feel so good when I eat very low carbs and more fat/protein. I'm so glad you are having pain relief and can run again!

Ok, I just have to comment again. Last night I prepared New York steak (too cold to grill here, so seared in iron skillet and finished in- oven - got them at Costco for a pretty good price and they were THICK!), and your creamed spinach recipe. My son and I had never eaten creamed spinach before, and let me tell you, we felt like we were eating a restaurant prepared meal, it was soooo good!! I also dug out my seldom used instapot and made chicken thighs for the taquitos and your white chicken chili. Amazon order coming today with freezer bags and those holders and then I will put the Sesame Chicken recipe together. I've been keto/low carb for almost two years yet never learned how to plan and prepare meals ahead of time, but I think you are the person for me to follow to learn how. Thanks, Annie for all the heart and time you put into these videos. I don't know how you do it but I sure am thankful that you do!

Instant pot or air fryer which is your go to machine? I’m a single person 64 (almost) and I use cast-iron most of the time. I have a crockpot and a blender that makes soup as well and a lot of little devices because I’m trying to minimize since I’m single. I’m just not sure if either one of them is beneficial to having ... Do they really make things easier when doing food prep for the week?

I know this is an old comment, but they make instant pots with crock pot settings and I highly recommend one of those. I gave my crock pot away since I just never used it after I got one of those, and I use the instant pot for cooking frozen chicken constantly. It makes my life so much easier

MAPLE QUESTION: Have you worked with maple emulsion or extract before? Any ideas on how much to use if we can't get keto maple syrup where we are (stores and amazon.ca are all sold out)? And do we also need to add more of another sauce to make up for the 1/4 cup of liquid missing if we switch to flavoring instead of syrup?

@rachellamb25644 жыл бұрын
It's just an alternative to soy sauce with no carbs or gluten. I don't know if it has any more benefits than flavor, big most keto recipes recommend it.
@lily5952 Жыл бұрын
@@rachellamb2564 I know this comment is old, but just thought I'd mention that some brands of liquid aminos contain sugar. Coconut aminos are made from the sap of coconuts :) It's still a good option for people who are sensitive/allergic to soy.

I enjoy your ideas. But worry how your family can handle the inflammation from so much dairy packed into the same week? That can't be sustainable. I save dairy for a once a week or other week cheat that will still keep me in ketosis. When I overindulged over holidays, I was in physical pain and it also negatively affected mood and thoughts. Taking a while to clear it out of tge system. At least one of your recipes was dairy free, and I look forward to trying out the flavour combo... although will have to figure out an oven & frying pan adaptation...
@lily5952 Жыл бұрын
Some people are dairy sensitive and others are not. I'm sure the lady behind KetoFocus would observe if her family had adverse reactions to dairy. Genetics play a big role in whether you can tolerate dairy. I read in 'Living Dairy Free for Dummies' that people of Northern European and Western European descent often can digest dairy pretty well. People of African, Asian and Southern European descent most likely don't. If you are of mixed descent, you likely can only tolerate a bit of dairy here and there. It's not a given, of course we are individuals, but I thought I'd share :)
