Hi Anita, I'm also an Anita age 66 soon to be 67 next month. I enjoy your videos and have for a long while. Now just listening to your why matching my why when I resolved to get healthier after I lost my mama from dementia in June 2021. 😢. So far I'm down 120 lbs with quite a few more lbs to go and I'm steadily succeeding with good video support from you and others in the proper human diet community on you tube. @@KetogenicWoman I started my 90 Carnivore challenge on September 26th. My mom died of Alzheimers less than a month on my challenge, on October 23rd, but it didn't derail me, thanks be to God. Frustrating that my mom was diagnosed with dementia just after going on statins. My Dr. wanted me to go on statins but I did my due diligence, researched it and declined. Feel like I dodged a bullet. I finish my challenge on Christmas eve. Don't think my diet will change much though. Always love your positive videos. Always learn something. Very informative.

For 99 days I have been eating animal based & use Redmonds real salt to taste (I occasionally have avocado mayo- Chosen brand, hot sauce (with sardines) and organic herbal tea) and am in love with this way of eating. I realized what caused cravings (peanuts, nuts, and anything sweet tasting- including stevia, flavored LMNT, and diet soda). It's amazing to experience freedom. I'm 64, no disease, no medication, and about 20 pounds to shed. I swim 3 times a week. I was on keto since 3/2015. I'm spending this year (8/2024 ~ 8/2025) focused on healing. Blessings to you all.

Beautiful Anita, you are aging BACKWARDS! You are not only an inspriation, but you are a teacher...teaching us a very simple path to health and wellness. I am not saying that sacrifices are "easy" and that beneifts will be the exact same for everyone...but yours is a pretty compelling example of success and a reason for us to at least consider it when weighing the benefits over the sacrifices. -I do see just from your example, that the sacrifices become less and less apparent and the health benefits become more and more obvious! You are radiant, smaller, stronger looking and the benefits you have had in your health are obvious. Excellent! Great explanations, Anita. I too am doing Lion Diet as a protocol to decrease inflammation so my worn out adrenals and low thyroid can heal. In the mornings I have a mug of hot water with 2 Tablespoons of beef tallow whisked in. This helps me with the goal of maintaining my calories 80% from fat and 20% from ruminant protein. I love your channel, Anita! ❤

What kind of tallow do you use? Do you make your own, or is there a brand you recommend?
@louisecashd.c.3901Ай бұрын
@@christinelamb1167 I get beef fat trimmings from the meat market or local butcher. Location depends on where we are for we travel fulltime in our travel trailer. I cut the fat in 1 inch pieces and air fry at 400° F for 14 minutes stirring half way through. On the bottom of my Cosori air fryer will be the hot liquid tallow. I first take out the fried fat pieces to snack on or add to my meals and strain the hot liquid fat into a widemouth pint jar. It solidifies at room temp. Great post. Happy it's going well. I've been a yo-yo person with my food. Sad, Keto, Carnivore. No consistency over the years. The sad part being the least way of eating. Trying hard to stick with keto vore atm. Mostly meat and eggs, and some days some tomatoes or a salad as a side. This last week has gone well. And my energy's up, feeling better and more active. I gave up alcohol 76 days ago and proud about that. Wish me luck getting through the holidays as they typically include friends and family and cocktails. The lion diet has been on my radar but the cost is my issue. And my budget honestly is usually what throws me back on the sad diet from time to time. Not good for me, but sometimes expenses get in the way. But I'm hopeful I will find a way for a better source for meat that I can afford. Will be checking back with you and see how your liking it. Best wishes for continued good health.

@TheTamrock2007Ай бұрын
@antimamster1895 I rely on ground beef a lot. And chicken. But there are times when I must dip into my emergency beans and rice for a time. Or add rice to meals to stretch that chicken. Then a period of weakness follows on sticking to what's best for me. Old cravings rear their head once those carbs have been allowed. I'm confident I will work through these things. And I sure would welcome prices going down. I am blessed though beyond measure, and grateful for so much.

Coffee can be easy to give up. First drop the number of cups per day. Do that for one month. Then mix your coffee half normal and half water washed decaf. Cut down again the number of cups. Do that for another month. The third month do decaf only and just one cup. After a month, quit. No problems with caffeine deprivation. Absolutely use a water washed decaf. Anything that’s not water washed is chemically added to render the caffeine inactive but can cause reactions to the chemicals. I tried cold turkey, just doing decaf, you name it I tried it. Nothing worked until I slowly weaned. It’s so much fun regaining the real estate on my kitchen counter getting rid of the coffee pot. It’s a lot of fun going by the coffee aisle knowing I got rid of an expensive addiction and I get to use my morning time for something besides nurturing coffee and all the drama that surrounds it. 🧚

Hi Anita... great video today... My grandma always used white pepper as it is not irritating the same as black pepper and tastes the same. I am sensitive to Black pepper myself and my body seems to tolerate the white pepper. I was unable to keep to Carnivore more than 95% and never lost any weight in six years eating that way. So, today I am on day 8 of a water only fast, with Electrolytes and Redman's real salt. I have now lost 11 pounds so far. I am not sure how long I can keep to this water fast, but I am going to go as long as I feel good. I am doing this to finally eliminate my pre-diabetes and high blood pressure conditions. I feel after this fast I will be able to do Carnivore 100% as hopefully my carb-cravings will be gone. On my water fast, I am having what my Grandma called "Silver Tea", it is simply hot water, and it is surprising how good it is. Bone broth is a great start to any day and that is how I will break my fast. Also I think it was Dante who mentioned he sometimes has hot water with butter in it.

I love your videos, stories, and recipes. I had horrible cramps for years. I would wake up in the middle of the night, and my whole body would stiffen into a tight cramp. I learned that the combo of daily lymphatic drainage and muscle training completely stopped my cramps. My physical therapist explained that weak muscles can cause cramps. She put me on chair swats and various other basic exercises to strengthen my muscles. I only do the exercises occasionally now as maintainence, but I still never have cramps. Also, I monitor my hydration levels through a body bio impedance scale with hand grips. I've been able to watch my hydration levels increase and body fat decrease. It is very motivational, especially when my weight loss tapers, but I see my muscle and bone mass increase while my body fat decreases. I weigh first thing every morning. I put ice water in a wide mouth mason jar with lid and straw and slip the jar into an insulating sleeve. I add a full baby spoon of Redmond salt to my water and sometimes 1 drop of Lugal's iodine. I guess by now I should be used to everyone thinking I’m the weirdest person ever with my eating habits. I’m thinking maybe taking bone broth (or hot water) in a travel mug? I realllly want to do this!!!

Thank you so, so very much, Anita, for this video. Your lion diet experience and resultant success and health improvements are definitely motivating. I’ve been struggling with the carnivore diet and all its variations. I really like the K.I.S.S. of the lion diet but was afraid I’d be bored and left wanting/ craving. After watching this video, I am determined to move forward and embrace the lion diet, seeking to feel my absolute best at age 67. I haven’t watched all your videos and apologize if you’ve covered this in another video but have you had a DEXA scan? I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis and am hoping I can manage, if not improve my bone health with the carnivore diet. Again, thanks so much for all your hard work and your caring, sharing heart.

I had a DEXA scan a couple years while at KetoCon. They are hard to get in Canada so I'm hoping to get another scan in 2025 when I travel to the US.

Thank you very much for sharing your journey. I allways enjoy listening to you. I can relate to all your issues with things like pepper etc. I have just decided to do something after mostly carnivore and a stint of of ketogenic diet. I have been stuck on 84 kilos for a while after loosing 20kilos over the last 18 months. I feel good and most of the inflammation has gone but still have some digestion problems. Sending love and best wishes.

Hi Anita! Thank you for the very interesting info! When you say you gave up dairy- just wondering what kind of dairy it was? Cream, cheese or was it just butter? Thanks so much!
@KetogenicWoman15 күн бұрын
All of it. Butter, cream cheese, cream and cheese!

Ive been keto/carnivore since February. I'm trying to work up the courage to go lions diet now. This video was so helpful! I didnt know to put the unflavored lmnt in bone broth. thats brilliant. I just cant get it down plain and the flavored stalls my weightloss.
@altawalker29Ай бұрын
@@DaughterofKings22 I like to add a drop of lemon essential oil (food grade ) and have the raw unflavored one in carbonated water, maybe that would be another option for you.

I had no idea my WHY is to avoid Alzheimers too, I have mum & dad aged 83 in a care home mum is non verbal and dad still speaks but makes no sense at all its horrible and mum probably lost her words and thoughts at about 70, my sister decided to put them into care 6 years ago after us trying to look after them for 6 years, although weight has been a problem for me too, yo yo dieter since 13, my mum came from the era of low fat and to be honest I believe that was apart of her problems. I have wanted to go Lion for some time and I think I'm going to start tomorrow I too have just given up coffee about 1 month ago but I had shocking headaches for days I drank espresso, thank you for sharing!

I hope you are doing well! I agree, my Mom went through that whole 'fat is evil' era and refused all fat except for corn oil which is poison sadly.

I can totally see the difference in your skin! you are looking very healthy! I have considered doing the Lion diet many times, but everytime I eat beef more than a couple times in a row, my joints hurt and my feet burn. I also get a headache with pork,(which I understand is not on the Lion diet), but I haven't tried venison or lamb. I am hesitant because of how I react to the beef. But I have to do something, I am frozen in this one 10 pound range and stuck, even though I have been doing Ketovore for over a year. I guess it's time to try.
@KetogenicWomanАй бұрын
Try with lamb. Also that reaction could be histamine, so maybe look into that and see if that makes sense.
