Im here because Im trying to figure out how to setup the blue yeti to enable me to livestream straight into TikTok with the best audio I can achieve for TikTok. I have many XLR microphones but always revert back to the Yeti because it has a warm less harsh sound. I may end up reverting to one of my xlrs but thankyou for the video !

I love how the Yeti X sounds, and I'm trying to use it for audio production. Right now, I have to switch to Windows Audio to hear the Yeti, which gives me all kinds of latency (buffer size is locked at 256 and above so I can't get it down to no latency) - the real issue for this is that I want to hear the vocals in my headphones to monitor what I'm doing, but it has a really annoying lag. Back to the Shure 58 for me!

I used to do this with the M Audio Uber Mic... simply because it was my first mic, after which I got the AT2020 and Presonus audiobox as an upgrade. I wanted to use them both simultaneously for a recording and therefore plugged them both into the audiobox. I later sold the Uber mic. It worked and there was no noticeable noise added.

I was surprised at how little noise came through when I put this video together. It’s not really noticeable when the transition takes place. Certainly still redundant and pointless with mire points of failure. But not as much of a quality drop as I expected

Congratulations for your very useful videos! I'd want to record a grand piano using the Blue Yeti (for the ambient) and two XLR microphones (near the strings). Is it better to connect to the pc both the Yeti and the audio interface for the 2 mics so I can record them simultaneously (preventing all these A/D and D/A passages) or is it better to connect all the 3 mics to the audio interface and connect only it to the pc? Thanks.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I have a blue yeti but as I've got an audio interface (scarlet 6i6) connected to my ddj controller which is connected to my PC for rekordbox. I don't have another USB port. If I was to purchase a USB hub, would this be sufficient to be picked up by my PC? Or would you recommend getting a USB to xlr converter to plug straight into my ddj1000 controller? Any guidance would be really appreciated thank you 🙏

@SquareViking
@SquareViking 2 жыл бұрын
@@candiceasmr2985 I haven't experienced anything like that, but it does sometimes just disconnect so I have to unplug it and plug it back in. To me it seems like they skimped on the cableport and/or the cable itself, so the white noise issue might be caused by that.

I have a Yeti mic and I'm getting great results but the industry states that an interface is needed. It appears as you just explain it that the yeti already has an interface so now I am unsure of why an additional interface is required for voice over. Maybe you can explain this. As you said you go from analog to digital to analog to digital and after a while there's a lot that's lost in translation for the final product. Thanks

My main reason for using the mixer or audio interface is to have a way for my Spotify music to play not through my mic via a speaker but have it go through the interface. I tried sharing the screen and audio on stream yard but nothing works. I returned the mixer and love my yeti for my streams on my Chanel bit would love a cleaner way to play the music

This was a helpful video, however, I wanted the Yeti to do VoiceOver work, and I wanted to be able to use both my studio mic, and the Yeti at the same time. I can't seem to configure it correctly. I don't want to use the extra cable, and I don't mind going in and switching the mic use. What my major problem is, is that if I plug headphones directly into the yeti, I can't hear the person on the other side, however, if I use the headphones directly from the audio interface, I can't really hear myself. Can that be helped?

I was just about to do this exact thing😂 Right now I plug my Blue Yeti straight into my IPhone XR to shoot Videos. The blue yeti is micing my guitar amplifier. I have the gain all the way at zero on the blue yeti but I can’t raise my guitar amp volume too high otherwise I get too much distortion on my recording. I was hoping to add the audio interface so I could raise my guitar amp a bit louder and lower the level on the blue yeti ? If that makes sense. Would appreciate your help !

So I have an audio interface that I use for FL studio, it’s a one input behringer simmilar to that focus rite. I like recording my own vocal melodies over my tracks just to create ideas but I’m not a singer so I don’t expect it to be high quality since none of that will ever see the light of day lol. I am just looking for a good mic to do a mic/headphone set up so I don’t have to switch to my gaming headset and unplug the audio interface when i’m down recording. I was looking at the Shure mv7 first but $250 seemed steep, so since I’m primarily looking to game, record vlogs and occasional vocal tracks I thought the blue yeti would be a cheaper option, so came to see how I would plug that one in since it doesn’t have xlr. Figured I could just use 3.5mm to 1/4 inch so thanks for confirming that. I’m not trying to record super profesional quality audio with the mic, do you think it’s still worth getting the Blue Yeti?

Have Blue Yeti plugged into USB on 2022 Mac Mini but can only make it work if I open up Garage Band and fiddle with it. Settings Input shows mic is producing sound but can hear nothing through headphones from mic. (Headphones work for other media). Plugging headphones into Yeti gives no sound either. When working with Garageband, there is delay of voice to ear. You have said how easy this is "plug and play" but searching online comments about Blue Yeti, I have read how many people are having problems with this mic. Thanx.

So the reason that I want to do this is because I am using a Focusrite interface to send the signal from one compressor mic and one dynamic mic to Ableton. I want to add a third microphone, The Blue Yeti, and I could not figure out how to set up Ableton to accept the focusrite USB and the Blue Yeti USB simultaneously by plugging the Blue Yeti directly into the computer. Maybe there is a simple solution in Abelton? 🤔

My Yeti Pro’s USB port is broken and I was going to get the focusrite as a way of being able to use it again but after seeing your video I’m having doubts. Do you think I should just get an XLR microphone instead?

If your USB port doesn't work, then this method won't work either since you need the USB to power the microphone. It sounds like you're ready to upgrade to an XLR setup.

My only problem here is that I wanted an audio interface and its software to setup recording and audio influencing singing, which you don't go over here unfortunately. I've had other online singers recommend this setup.

Hi, I'm using my blue Yeti to record vocals but I'm struggling to lower the gain more than the physical knob in the back of the microphone allows. I am thinking that using an audio interface could help me to do so, since I'm trying to get rid of the clipping I experience when recording vocals with the blue Yeti. Is there any way in which I could do that without the interface? Thanks in advance :)

from what it sounds like, you are just recording at to high a db level. If you record at roughly -5 to -6 db on the track you are recording on, you should find that it works better. Typically I would say it’s most important to mix it right, and record it as clear as you can. Clipping comes when you are recording too loudly, that’s why you should bring it down more. Hope this helps.

My problem with the yeti is that the volume is very low, so I have to turn the gain all the way up. This introduces more background noise.

If you're using a daw create a bus to hear yourself better. The Yeti picks up great, just gotta have your levels right and you'll get everything you hear and low noise in the mix

I bought the Yeti and Focusrite to narrate audiobooks based on audiobook recommendation. I don't have the additional cables you demonstrate to connect both with Yeti and Focusrite. Do you still think I need the Focusrite for this purpose?

I would just connect the yeti direct to your computer. I don't see how the Focusrite would help you, unless you're really wanting the Air mode.
