Kevin Moore lead sound

There is something to be said in "the simplicity" of it all. Kevin Moore may not have the virtuoso talent of Jordan, but Kevin always knew when to keep things simple. You don't always have to embellish everything. Kevin's sound is a sound I have missed for decades. Derek was definitely able to recreate it, but Jordan will always embellish it with a blaze of notes.

Jordan and Kevin are totally different…I love both….i love Kevin for his ability to touch you heart with few notes…I love Jordan for his impressive ability to recreate an orchestra with his composition….with Jordan, Dream Theater became much more epic than ever.

@@FFCarr yes that’s true..but even Octavarium is a very strong demonstration of Jordan’s impressive attitude in orchestration and very very strong rock progressive background…they’re different but both phenomenal

sounds like two slightly detuned filtered saws with a fairly short amp attack time. moderate portamento and of course stereo delay. possibly also a chorus effect instead of two saws? filter is also quite low but maybe an eq boost around 1khz

@@joeyhardin5903 yeah, two sawtooth oscillators slightly detuned..a little bit of chorus and delay…and fine setting of eq. and ADSR parameters.

I did it on a minimoog. 3 saw osc with a +4% and -4% on the top and bottom, no unison but I did add a chorus filter. Mine has a slightly softer sound than the one in this video
