Hi Kevin, in my work, I often have to switch between Zoom, Webex and Teams for different clients so thanks for all of the different videos with great contents which helps me stay updated. For future videos would like to see a tutorial on using the new breakout room feature on Webex. Also I have experimented with PowerPoint slide sharing using a dual-monitor setup. I turn on share as a PowerPoint slide show “in a window”. This allows me to see my presenter notes as well as use the rest of my desktop for other apps without letting the audience know. Cheers,

Kevin, Sharing the desktop detracts from the attention of your viewers. I like to share the Power Point Show by itself, the slides are full screen and the viewer concentrates only on that slide. Also, many presenters show entire lists at once, instead of popping each item one at a time. I also found that highlighting the current item and dimming previous items to be a lot more effective.

I have one question: in my meetings, I have to auto advance slides in a loop and only File sharing supports this function as far as I've tried with my WebEx subscription. Does window or screen sharing support auto advance slides and I just don't know how to set it up?

Hi Kevin, very enlightening concerning presenting power points while at the same time able to see notes by clicking on that red dote that you show. However I don't see that red dote in my free webex version. Is it because this feature is only available in the premium version? Appreciate your reply. Thanks!

i guess when we choose "file share" option, the meeting attendee will be able to download the powerpoint on the client side. Or does CISCO have a settings option to "allow saving of shared file?"

This can be overcome by using second monitor. You have one monitor that shows presenter's view while the other monitor shows the main Powerpoint. Then you share the main Powerpoint screen while you view the presenter's view.

Does webex let you have your camera view displayed in front of your shared PowerPoint presentation - similar to Zoom? That way our audience can see the presentation as well as the presenter.

Just a heads up, for those who need to use animations in your powerpoints. You won't be able to share file and view ppt notes; however, you can still share screen and view regular notes. You just have to paste all your notes there at the start of the meeting and scroll through them as you present. They aren't visible to other participants.

The fact that multiple screens was not mentioned is curious. You would think the use of two monitors would be the preferred method, but does WebEx support it? WebEx also has an Add-in for PowerPoint which sounds ideal, but I have not been able to try.

It is a limitation or glitch in Webex. When you share your application window you cannot have any other window open on top of it. If you do then all the other attendees will see the box with grey cross hatch where that window will be. You have to close the other window or move it. You just have to make sure no other windows appear on top of the window you are sharing. That is why uploading the PowerPoint to webex is better since you don't have that problem.

Also, the big benefit of sharing the file by uploading it to Webex is that you can pass the presenter ball to another person and then they can advance their own slides.
