It is much appreciated and I look forward to seeing more of your videos! @@JasonYadlovski I have a big problem. Since I don't have any indoor lighting available...I just shoot in the garage of my house early in the morning, but the problem is that the quickly rising sun behind me changes the exposure quickly and the towards the end of the video...I have a fully blown out exposure. I was thinking...can keyframes be used to slowly adjust the exposure as the exposure increases in the video? Say ... From one exposure value in the beginning and to another exposure value in the end? Do you think it's possible? If yes...how can I do that? As you can see in this video. I tried to adjust the exposure, but still...by the end...its a mess. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4nEl4BoqKuertU Thank you very much for your time.
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Just saw this comment - sorry for the late reply. Yes you can keyframe in an exposure change. You would do that in the color tab. You would make the exposure change using a node and you'd have to add dynamic keyframes to the node so it will change over time. I would say maybe the easiest option would be to just shift your position outside a little. Maybe move closer to the house or it looks like there is some kind of porch next to you maybe? I'd go under there. Or you can wait until the light is more consistent. Just my 2 cents. 😁

I don't think there is a keyboard shortcut to add a keyframe. You can resize the video using the mouse if you click on the little icon at the bottom left of the viewer in the Edit tab. It looks like a square by default I believe. Click it on, then you'll see handles so you can resize and move the clip.

8:30 but the position keyframe is not adjustable, can only move up and down but not horizontally....any tips of fixing this?
@JasonYadlovski3 жыл бұрын
That's strange, it should be able to move left and right. Did you try the top section where it only shows you the points, but not the graph below? What if you recreate it or add new keyframes? You can adjust the parameters by using the inspector as well. Just go to that keyframe using the arrows by the position keyframe in the inspector, then you can just adjust the position number when on that keyframe and it will change the keyframe. Hope this helps!

Hey nice video! I wanted to ask something unrelated to key frames though. On my laptop, resolve keeps crashing after 20-25min of working on my laptop. Amy clue why?
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! So it's crashing while you are editing normally in the timeline? Are you doing anything specific that might cause it to crash like working in fusion? What are the specs on your laptop? Maybe it's just making the machine work too hard? Defiantly weird. Not totally sure what might be going on there....🤔
@redstonerosh124 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I have a graphics card with 2GB RAM and my laptop has 8GB of RAM on its own. It crashed when I was just splitting clips, no other transitions or other effects yet. After research, I think its that there were too many clips because there were 200+ clips before it crashed so I'm guessing my laptop can't handle the amount. Thanks for replying :) Also, I am looking to get a new laptop in a few months. (To work with DAW and editing like Davinci Resolve. A lot of websites throw a range of specs for what is recommended. Could you tell me what is the recommended specs for Resolve to run smoothly on a laptop? Thank you!

As with lots of computer stuff, more power is better. But with more power comes a higher cost. My current setup is a MacBook pro with a quad core i7, 16 gig ram and AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 GB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB for graphics . When I go to get a new one, I'd max out the processor, ram and graphics card. I probably wouldn't go less than 32 gigs of ram and the i9 processor. 😁 I'd say set your budget and get the most power you can for your budget. 👍
@redstonerosh124 жыл бұрын
Thanks man.😀 I've learnt a lot because of you! One last question: If I'm using an NVIDIA graphics card, what should the specs of that be?

Let me explain myself better. How can you ease in to a value and then change the speed of that without losing the ease. Makes sense? thanks!
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Hi! To ease in/ease out of a keyframe, you have to open the 'retime contols' by right clicking on a clip. Then you should see a little graph below the clip. If you select the keyframe, then change the top to the arc symbol you'll see at the top of that window, you should be able to change how the clip eases in or out. Check out 9:22 in the video, that's how you'd do it. Hope this helps!

@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for checking out the video! So if the video is zoomed in (for example zoom set to 2 in the transform section), just add a keyframe where you want to start to go back to the normal size by clicking the diamond next to the zoom. This tells the clip to say zoomed at 2 until here. Then, move ahead one frame, then just adjust the zoom back to 1. Hope this helps! If you need more info, let me know. 😁

@JasonYadlovski3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! To end a set of keyframes, just adjust the settings to be back to their default, then don't make any more changes after that. There's no need to 'turn them off' or anything like that. Just don't make any more changes. 😜

Is it possible to key frame multiple audio tracks at one time - example like an audio duck of multiple audio files under a dialog track, with edit selection mode or range select mode in fairlight? if so would you make a lesson. Please I have tried to come up with an efficient way to duck them all. but i do it manually with key frames one track at a time. NG!

Great video. But there is always a but.... Im doing 360 with reframe 360 and I do not see the keyframes below the videoclip. Why is this?
@JasonYadlovski Жыл бұрын
Hi! Try clicking on the clip and choose Retime Controls. That should bring up the keyframes under the clip in the edit tab. You can see the different keyframe type by clicking the triangle dropdown on the left of the graph area and choose what you want to see.

Hi I'm trying keyframe text so only a portion of the text is changed (Kind of like a counter, think cinema sins) How would I keyframe it?
@JasonYadlovski3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m not really sure what you’re describing so I’m not really sure how to help. 🤔 he might need to make two separate parts of the text.
@LuckyNeffy3 жыл бұрын
@@JasonYadlovski It would be like a number slowly counting up as the video goes on. I would think you'd use a keyframe to change the text number.

Have you tried selecting the clip then right clicking and choose Retime controls? Does that bring it up?

Great video very helpful but is there a way to animate overlay pictures like make it Pop or anything fun?
@JasonYadlovski4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Thanks! Sure you can add an image to a video track above your video clips and then use the keyframes in the inspector to have the image resize, pop, move, etc. You can do more advanced effects using the same image in the Fusion Tab. There are endless possibilities. 😁

just perfect , thanks a lot Jason

If you can make more advanced videos about fusion and effects I would be very happy, because you explain very well and you have great teaching skills.

19:02 My issue is now moving those keyframes on the audio track without changing the values.

Hold the shift key.
@TheLillianYoung2 жыл бұрын
@@JasonYadlovski Thanks, Jason. What I meant was that in the process of getting ahold of the keyframe, it slides slightly out of value before it locks into place with the shift key. I’d hoped that like in After Effects or even Resolve’s video keyframe property, I could slide a dot independent of having to grab the kf on the property graph.

Just a question, 7:20 when we drag the zoom up or down, is it possible to shift with incremental value? for e.g. 1.2x, 1.3x, 1.4x so on instead of exponential value? I hold shift, ctrl and Alt key, but nothing helps. Is there any shortcut? :😊
@JasonYadlovski2 жыл бұрын
Not sure there is, other than to just drag it...

Is there a way to not have any interpolation between keyframes? I just want parameters changed at each keyframe instantly but there seems to be no way of doing that. I'm forced to have them animated. Is there a way of having static keyframes or will I have to chop the video up and have different transforms on each clip for that instead?
@JasonYadlovski2 жыл бұрын
You could just add 2 keyframes that are 1 frame apart on the timeline. Then it will 'jump' from one to the other. Hope that makes sense.
@BrunodeSouzaLino2 жыл бұрын
@@JasonYadlovski That was what I ended up doing. It's slow and leaves room for all sorts of errors. It makes no sense why the UI is inconsistent like that. You have static keyframes on the color page and step curve options on Fusion's and no option of not having any interpolation in edit.
@JasonYadlovski2 жыл бұрын
You can adjust the curve of the key frame point in the edit page if you’re interested in that, just open the rettime controls for the clip.
