Khadeen Ellis my fav part was watching Jackson check Kaz’s heartbeat. Just seeing how small he and Kairo were just 2 years ago is crazy. Your mom throwing the flowers in the water is still HILARIOUS!!!! You and Devale dancing thru your contractions

Biggest take away was the delaying the placenta clamping, I had not seen this before and it makes complete sense in ensuring baby gets all the blood and nutrients they need. Thank you Kay! 🇯🇲🇬🇩

I’m no where near having kids but I’ve always been afraid of it, especially the pain. Which wasn’t helped by the experiences of women in my life, whom had not the best birthing stories. Until I knew there were other options like birthing. This video definitely solidified my decision to have one in the future. So thank you so much, Khadeen. For sharing your story, it was inspiring & touching. ✨

Hi! I am a surgical tech & a nursing student. Stories like yours keep me striving through nursing school to become a midwife. Especially since we as black women do not have enough representation & support when we are laboring and giving birth. We need more nurses & providers that look like you & me to empower women to take charge of their birthing process. I had midwives for all three of my children (one was at home) and I am glad to have had those beautiful experiences. 🙏🏾🤓

I don’t have children however I’m glad Black women are learning about all of their child birth options. It’s important to be mindful that everyone may not be able to have a home birth, especially for their first experience. If you are not a candidate for home birth just remember that having a safe delivery of a healthy baby is most important! I have been watching The Ellises from the beginning. Thank you for sharing!

As I'm sitting here at work. I realized that The Ellis family has been my, Martin, Family Matters, Fresh Prince, My Wife and Kids etc... for the past 2 years. I watch both channels faithfully, I even have my baby saying it's your boi swag savage... lol ♥️

How time flies, it 3 years already? But this 2nd part brought me back to my deliveries. Sadly i never got to take home my 3rd as she was stillborn at fullterm but pushing her out was still amazing. I did learn to listen to my body after my first and pushed when it told me to even when the nurses said no, my body was like yes. And I never once tore, jus bruised. For ur first, u really do just want to be told what to do put of fear of not knowing what is to happen for real. Beautiful memory photos Khadeen.

So happy you are sharing your experience with women; I find that many women never get to experience the freedom of shaping their birthing experiences for themselves and I knew I wanted that. My experience: I have one baby (11 mos old) and we went the alternative route; in Trinidad (and Tobago) where we live first time moms cannot do home births, but we didn't want to do hospital birth. We planned to have a water birth at a birthing center, but when we got into the tub, the water was irritating my SOUL (I was having hot and cold flashes) so the water was as hot as it could be (my husband was sweating bullets) and I was like "this water is TOO COLD!" They were like any hotter and it will scald the baby when she comes out so I was like "F*&% this!" and jumped in a hot shower to ease the pain and then i laid down next to the tub on the floor. No matter how many times they asked me if I wanted to get on the bed, I was like " I am having her right here on this floor, in this private suite in this birthing center!" It was such a beautiful experience (especially after a rough pregnancy of bedrest for the first 20 weeks), my hubby, twin sister, midwives and doula were present. My sister documented the whole experience and was in charge of my birth playlist. My husband and doula supported me through the pain the whole time. Sissy came through in the clutch with Patra "Queen of the Pack" when I was having trouble pushing her head out...I focused on that song, summoned all of my strength and pushed her out. I labored for 17 hours...13 hours active.

I didn’t have the option of a home birth because I had a multiple pregnancy (twins) and the risk of premature birth was high which actually happened as they arrived 6 weeks early so I had them in hospital with a fantastic team. Kaz’s home birth looked so calming with all of your family around you.

I just had my first born last September and the overall experience was pretty good from pregnancy to delivery. I did have my son in the hospital though. I was more comfortable with that since it was my first time. Didnt take an epidural or anything. He was out after 3 pushes. I did have to get some stitches though cause I tore a little, but not much. Here in Antigua, I am not sure if we have at home birth options, so that is something I'd have to look into if and when I have another baby. Love from Antigua 🇦🇬🇦🇬🇦🇬🇦🇬 your support system is awesome...💜

I love love love that you did this video! You inspired me to tell me story! Especially during a time like this of such uncertainty, I too believe Mommies need the remind to not only trust themselves. But also that they have options! Since neither of my 3 labors went this way I created these mommy self care treasure chest to introduce Mommies to motherhood. No matter how many children she has. As you see first hand each time is a new experience. I’m also going to be a postpartum doula! I am completely in love with Takiya. She too empowered me on this video! Thanks again Queen!
