Would appreciate it very much if you could highlight the Origin of Gharti caste of Nepal, and probably in India also. There is a grave misnomer about it, and very little or no information is available about this caste. The State has neglected the study research about this caste and the people of this caste suffer from backwardness and low living standards. Well 17:14 the factor that rimal surname come from rima/Rema village is true. As a rimal I grew up oversea but many of my ancestors have put blood and sweat for Nepal. Some of the known work that I know include writing the step by step formula of the nepealses flag into the constitution ( my grandfather cousin had the power to change the flag of Nepal. Yet he kept the flag of Nepal 🇳🇵 despite the flag not being square or rectangle (European style). The flag that he said originz from a temple of a godess, the temple carving of the flag is said to date over the period of mahabharat war. The flag is even said to be represented in mahabharat war for the side of kuru dynasty by a nepealse kingdom. With so much history , why shall Nepal change the flag that has been the symbol of Nepal. Lastly my ancestors have served under many kings and ruler of Nepal even pritivinarayn Saha Pritivinarayn Saha had lost two battle with nuwacoat previously( one when his father was in charge and when he was in charge, nuwacoat a kingdom was double the strength of Gorkha, traded with Tibet and so on was very powerful, it was in a strategic place , protected by fast flowing current of tirsuli river and many more soilder than Gurkha army, my ancestors advice ( attack at night in this particular specific time when river current is the calmest) . This surprise attack let to almost no preparation from nuwacoat side and the start of unifying Nepalese kingdom into Nepal occurred. That being said in Nepal contributing to over 30 family generation of rimal in written record book and about 60 generations more which where recorded but due to flooding/ water damages in a temple we are just left with 30. That being said I lack further knowledge as I grew up oversea and spend my childhood oversea. I know there are rimal in asam India but again asam was a nepealses kingdom in mahabharat Era ( karat king yalamber (akash bhairav, katu syam, barbarik) use to rule over eastern Nepal and areas of asam at period of the war. You may even find rimal in Austria and Middle East but again people really like rimal words as even in Australia where I live , since people can't pronounce my name I just tell them to call me rimal and no matter the ethnicity they can easily spell it out. Which helps me along. The surname of the village probably helped in conversation with different people. For example the discussion of why so many people adopted the name park, Kim and so on. The surnames where all tital. Just like Smith and cook. Captain Cook who discovered Australia and many pacific island probably had someone who was a cook in ancestors. So it is interesting on how the surname worked for people without such profession. For example Thapa as chetri (soilder). Was it a collective village idea to create surname to be known as rimal to be able to understand the place or residency. Benefit of such name..like in Korea only the royal had surname (again a tital) but as roya lost power suddenly everyone has surname and they all say they have distinct royal bloodline and there is a very interesting topic. I am just curious , I know I could ask my parent but I already annoyed them to much as they are probably one of the only older generation rimal which I can get hold of at Australia. In another word people who grow up oversea will be enlightend by the video even if it confuses abit due to lack of understanding as no previouse experince/ knowledge toward the topic.

Bahun, xettri who looks fair, with sharp facial feature are more pure Khas, others are mixed (Caucasian + south Indian + Eastern Asian) Bahun, Xettri - more % Caucasian, Upper caste newar - East Asian + Caucasian, Magar- East Asian +some Caucasian, Madhesis - More South Indian + very less Caucasian Hence people in Nepal have varied looks (African looking , Chinese looking, European looking) . Truely diverse, yet mixed. End of the day, we are all Nepalese, all human being and only that matters

Sorry but Bahuns are not khas. Khas living in high himalayan foothills for 1000s of years cannot keep their genetic purity. It's fact. Bahuns for that reason alone are not khas. Khas is synonymous to Jharro chhetri. Matwali chhetris are khas too.

Jharro chhetris (tagdhari khas) and matwali chhetri (unconverted khas) are synonymous to khas. Damupal's 10th century stone inscription proves khas were Buddhist. Every relic of khasan starts with "Om Mani Padme Hum". 3. Relics of Khasan in Jumla and Dailekh only bears Chhetri surnames 4. Jung Bahadur Rana converted many unconverted khas into Chhetri, not bahun, in 1854 AD after 2nd Nepal-Tibet war. 5. There are still many unconverted khas in Jumla, Humla, Mugu and other parts of Karnali. They bear the same surnames as Jharro Chhetri, have same traditions, but do not wear janai.
