A warn fuel pump cam follower can cause engine noise and rattle. It takes only a few minutes to remove the fuel pump cam follower and inspect it on Kia. @@stevedubya291 definitely true, but i have yet to find anything on the internet about the actual noise im getting. I need to get a video soon because everyone talks about the ticking which is normal, but im getting a major squeal on cold start. My issue is, it began after replacing the hpfp lpfp and fuel injectors. (basic unneeded but wanted to do maintenance) noise began and i replaced the cam follower as well. Till this day still getting the squeal noise

My noise sounds like a high pitch metal rattle of something small. Ugh, probably just going to take it to the dealer to find out what it is and from there figure out if it's easy enough to do it myself.

I have a 2015 Kia Sportage. With 146K miles. I don't hear excessive noise, but do I need to check that bearing just the same? Sometimes when I first crank the car up I hear a little rattle for about 1 second and it goes away. It takes about a second for the oil to lubricate whatever's rattling in there. Also, if I inspect this bearing will I tear the gasket?

Try using techron gas for two months. Knock sensor codes will appear on scanner if using cheap gas.

I have a clicking noise on my 2013 Kia Sportage gasoline engine not diesel. The noise presents itself with the engine OFF. Yes engine OFF. Only when I turn the key to ACC right before cranking. If your location is in US so be it ;-) I have an issue with my KIA Sportage GTLine. An extremely annoying noise appear only at cold start at about 1500-1600rpm and also when driving each time between these rpms. Just on the upper limits of previous gear before shifting. Could it be the same issue? Where can I hear the noises you are treating? It will be good to start videos with the noises.

I have Kia Soul with a DOHC 16V engine, and it's making this noise while driving; it started on the left and then right turns but now also periodically while driving normally. Also, it shows the Oil pressure warning light for about a second or two while driving.

At Kia, the right name is something with “roller”. If you go to the store, show them the picture or the part. I had to spend a few minutes with them to find this freaking part on a map. And it ended up not being the cause of my noise. I feel like a 🤡 after throwing $115 away. Using a high octane gas (as indicated by another guy here) kinda reduced my issue like 95% down. You may want to check the upper part carbonization (common in GDIs engine).

Hi guys. I am having issues with my Optima 2019. I hear a rattle noise ONLY when applying torque and the engine is around 2000 RPM. The noise is not present if I am driving “smoothly” nor in park mode (on neutral, I can have the engine running at any RPM and there will be no noise). I didnt find what is causing it so far. :( I’ve took it to 2 repair shops, but nobody pays much attention to what I say. So frustrating.
