Thanks very much Brian, you’ve been a great support for the EV6 and given confidence to owners even if they didn’t have the problems that you unfortunately had. Like you, I will be keeping my EV6, it is simply a beautiful car !

24 dealer visits are really a lot! I think you're a very patient person, right?! I would never have endured this odyssey. My EV6 is the same age as yours and I haven't had any unscheduled dealer visit. Therefore I can say that it is a very reliable car and would buy it again. Respect for your perseverance 👍

After 2 years I also think it’s the best car I’ve ever had. Says a lot that you think the same despite the massive hassles.

Thanks Brian - your feelings for Elvira shine through, despite all the challenges. My EV6 will be 2 years old in April '24 and has been very well behaved. After 60 years of car ownership, including two lovely Lotus cars, the EV6 is the best of the lot. It takes driving into a different era that the ICE can't match and I love it. Thanks for all the help and advice you've given us, best wishes for 2024 and keep up the good work 😊

Hi Brian, I have now had my mat gray EV6 for just over 6 months, however I havd to wait 11 months for delivery. In all of that time I have been watching your videos. I am a real petrol head and had lots of great cars over the years incuding Jags, Saabs, BMW's a Hemi V8 5.7litre and my last car a lovely AMG Merc convertible, but like you this EV6 AWD is the best, most fun, smoothest high tech car I have ever ownned. I love it and again like you I now plan to keep it many years. So great vodeo, thank you for all the videos in the past, keep it up. Thank you again Iain

Keep up the good work! 🤩 I think you have indeed been unlucky with an EV6 of the first order. We took delivery of ours in March 2022. the HVAC diagnosis was also an issue for a while, and afterwards completely worry-free, until the windscreen washer fluid supply hose broke off recently, and this week at our own request now a replacement of the light units. We have driven nearly 35k miles, with quite a few trips to southern France. That's when this fast-charging monster really comes into its own. Drive eat charge repeat.... In the beginning, this was still often at a rate per minute in France. It seemed almost like theft to charge the EV6 because it charged per minute at a hellish rate.

Brian, your videos have been a mine of information and help since I got my GT Line S AWD in August. Only problems I have had - rattly boot (Which I eventually fixed by some tape around plastic blocks in the gutter). Also my DAB was non existent, so the antenna was changed (had to wait for parts for a few weeks). It is a fantastic car, suspension perfect for UK roads, endless power and efficicent. Heater is a bit hit and miss when on "auto", but that's programming which I hope will get updated as time goes on.

Brilliant, Brian! Thanks very much. I'd also like to thank you for all the information gathering and sharing you have supplied to us all. Although not an EV6 owner, and you know the story behind that, I am delighted with its cousin. The two vehicles share the same genes if not the same parentage. I too am delighted with my car after 5 months of ownership. Is it the best car I have ever owned, no, but it is a only tiny fraction off it. Hope Elvira continues to provide you with sterling service at least until the end of her warranty period! 👍😁

I got mine almost exactly the same time as yours, Brian. We have done 20,000 miles. We've had quite a few issues too although probably not quite as bad as yours. Worst issue was a wiring loom fault where it had worn through and was shorting out. I've not been as diligent as you have in recording them. Still the best car I have ever had. I'd suggest we are suffering the early adopter penalty. It's a much better car after the updates.
@evodessey11 ай бұрын

My EV6 was produced in December 2021. I drove 18,000km without any problems. But passengers in the back always have cold feet in winter. The air flow from the floor vents under the front seats is absolutely insufficient. Who else knows this problem?
@noradtux11 ай бұрын
"Remaining energy". cannot be used for estimating health. It seems to be a calculated value based on SoC. SoH value also doesn't seem to show remaining capacity. There are no buffers to hide degradation. Those would show up in increasing cell voltages at 100% SoC and/or decreasing voltage at 0%
@evodessey11 ай бұрын
Cheers So the KiaEvforums thread i used as the basis is incorrect then? Can you point me in the direction of evidence to the contrary?
@noradtux11 ай бұрын
@@evodessey I don't really have written evidence. This is based on experience with older cars from Hyundai/Kia, i.e. Ioniq and Kona. I know a fellow EV6 driver who has like 62 kWh remaining energy shown. But drivable range does not reflect that. I also mapped SoC vs energy remaining. They overlay perfectly.
@evodessey11 ай бұрын
That’s interesting. This is the thread i’m talking about.www.kiaevforums.com/threads/call-for-data-car-scanner-users-please-report-in.7773/?nested_view=1&sortby=oldest The assumption that using total available energy has gone totally uncontested on that thread. Perhaps it needs a lot more data to get to the bottom of it. I just want to find a reliable way of figuring out degradation.

Thanks Brian, I bought a 2021 EV6 last week influenced a lot from your informative videos. I am.happy with the car but it does have a couple of quirks, the boot wants to close on me as soon as it opens and the remote starting does not want to work. Any tips?
@evodessey11 ай бұрын
What trim level is it? I’ve heard of the boot wanting to eat people before. I think it’s a faulty sensor. You will need to book it into a dealer. That’s warranty work.
@DerekYATES-u6x11 ай бұрын
@evodessey It is the GT S line RWD. I will book it in to get it checked out. Thanks

mine is from 2022 Feb and apart from battery which will be replaced next week, nothing went wrong.. with 2 small occasions when the key was not recognized and had to rest car (disconnect battery and connect again). I think it is because of a software bug where the pre-heating is not finished and one tries to start the car.. which is causing the system to crash an not recognized the key anymore..
@evodessey11 ай бұрын
The Niro EV used to have that Zombie Mode bug at launch but they fixed it with a dealer software update. Probably the same thing.

lights have the same issue though where they peal .. will take it to the dealer next week and show them. Nothing critical.. but looks weird

I am not happy at all. I was the first customer in Sweden to get delivery of my EV6 GT line. It is the service and parts availability that really sucks. My car was towed on Nov 27 after fault mode in the charging system. The ECU is expected to arrive end on January 2024, that is 2 months. Also the service reminder has not alerted me on service, thereby overshooting the service interval. KIA Sweden is making life hard and I will go back to other brand because of service and part’s issues. I was waiting for tow par 6 months, updates on infotainment etc etc. -Love the car and the 5500 km on the meter. Anders Stridsberg
@evodessey11 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that. Parts availability in the UK has recently improved massively. I'm surprised there are still delays. Fingers crossed stuff arrives sooner
@andersstridsberg157711 ай бұрын
@@evodessey One of the problems, at lease in Sweden is that the service organization doesn’t have a digital service log for Kia. As compared to my previous BMW’s. -The effect in my case is that the wrong service interval was typed into the car at delivery (not following procedure). That’s why I overshoot the service interval, I trusted the build in system of the car. This will be costly for me and I am very angry. Of course you can say I am to blame, but all cars I have had in modern time have had a service indicator I could trust or a service close in time was picked up by the shop during for example recalls or even change of tires. BMW is really good at this. Kia Sweden Hedin Bil is stuck in the -80 in my opinion.

.Sorry you've had so many problems, possibly because it's an early model, if it's any compensation, you were driving it around while I was searching Korean ship sailings hoping it would arrive before 2023. It is a great car, best we've had, after years of Saabs, looks like it will be irreplaceable though, don't like the facelift or the Ioniq style head unit either.
