I brought Sonet Gt line diesel AT varient exactly one year back. now Crossed 11000 km mark. Average milage unbelievable 24kmpl.+ Always put 75 - 80 km on Eco drive mode in cruise during long ride. Other than stiff suspension set up I feel It is the best diesel automatic car in the entire compact SUV segment where nothing can match 👍👍👍

DCT is better of course. You should test drive the EcoSport as in terms of performance and ride quality it is a better car

Hey! Amazing review! I want your advice.. I'm really confused between Sonet Auto Diesel HTX and Sonet Manjal Diesel HTX? What will be the real world mileage for each of them in similar driving conditions? What will the difference in mileage? I'm going to drive approx 1500kms per month in Mumbai. Not significant. Go for the AT, much more convenient for a city like Mumbai

Sir, i have a diesel automatic sonet. Is it ok to put neutral while vehicle is on move in automatic torque converter. I have noticed doing that gives much better mileage in city especially when u r not giving much acceleration. Vehcile slows down rapidly when u release the accelerator in most cases.. does putting neutral and then in drive when necessary in moving vehicle affect transmission?

Hi, thanks for all your videos. I'm planning to buy a Compact SUV however keeping the features, benefits, drive impression and everything else put together, don't see any option other than Sonet. My daily driving is between 35-50kms and around 400kms highway driving once in a month. Also, there will be average 2 trips a year comprising 1000-3000kms. Personally I would like to go ahead with an automatic car which should be feature rich in terms of driving and comfort. 2 questions. Which one will be more suitable. 1ltr Turbo DCT or the TorqueCoverter one. 2nd, should I wait for any other upcoming Compact SUV. If so, on which should I put my time researching.

Go for the DCT.just finished Diesel version of torque converter.fantastic is a low word to use .its just mind blowing.sinxe tiur drive is less you can opt for petrol. But nothing stops from going to a diesel also.should you wait for aonthig else --NOOO

For complete enthusiasm you can consider dct, but the fact is torque converter is a very reliable technology and easier to maintain also as compared to dct. From my perspective I think you should consider diesel automatic variant, also the point is it's engine is more punchy and powerful so you will never miss the enthusiasm factor too. And also there is no much price difference between the diesel automatic and petrol dct and you will get better mileage, so it will definitely be the best choice.

Great detailed analysis. The best city soft suv ! All is good but the instrument panel area design spoiling the das look in both KIA SUVs. Further this digital lcd instrument panel feels cheap in any car as per my taste. If they have to go digital it should be something like duke 390 or street triple rs. Analog look classy any day.

If your daily driving is approx to 80 km then go to diesel automatic variant ie. htk + diesel automatic of Kia sonet. It comes with the torque converter gearbox which is a very reliable technology also you will get better performance and mileage. But if your primary focus is features you can consider the imt variant ie. htx imt of Kia sonet. It's a new technology and while gear shifting you will not notice much lag or any lag as compared to amt. It's also very good in drivability but not as superior to diesel automatic.

I want to clear your doubts, Htk plus diesel automatic doesn't get any driving modes nor the traction modes. In htk + petrol dct you will get all these modes and the higher variants of Kia Sonet ie. GT line variant get all the modes. Regarding hill assist feature, I think it doesn't have it but you can anyways confirm from car website.

@@ASKME2DAY Yes definitely Kia sonet diesel automatic engine is more powerful and punchy as compared to Maruti suzuki brezza from the power ie. bhp figures and torque figures as well. Brezza automatic get 105 bhp of power and 138 nm of torque while Sonet gets 114 bhp of power and 250 nm of torque. That clearly defines the power of these two cars who is more powerful. From the gearbox perspective, yes Maruti suzuki brezza gets the proper automatic gearbox ie. Torque converter but comes with 4 speed only while Kia sonet diesel automatic gets 6 speed Torque converter gearbox. Kia sonet also gets the turbo charged engine as compared to naturally aspirated engine that comes in Maruti Suzuki brezza. And once the turbo spools or kicks in between desired rpm range ie. 1500 rpm to 2750 or 3000 rpm you will definitely feel the surge of power getting from that engine. So it feels more punchy and grunt in Kia sonet and turbo lag is also reduced because using Variable geometry turbo charger technology.

Xuv300 is a great car, but at this price it should have come with a proper automatic box ie. Torque converter. It's all powerful and torquest engine is let down by the amt gear box. So from my perspective you should go with Kia sonet diesel automatic as gear shifts are lot smooth and you will not notice any lag. If Mahindra could supply xuv300 with a proper automatic gearbox then it becomes the clear choice for choosing it over Kia sonet as per your requirement.

Xuv deserves a proper automatic gearbox. At this 14-15 lakh on road price, AMT is an horribly outdated and atrocious choice for an automatic gearbox.

I'm hearing that the sonet gtx plus diesel automatic will cost around12 lacs ex showroom... All though its highly unlikely but If it happens then its game over for everyone else.... also with the xuv3oo the interior fit and finish and the design looks outdated which is to be expected because the car is based on a 5 year old ssangyong tivoli...

Overall, the Sonet feels nice. XUV 300 diesel manual is terrific, AMT is decent but not wow. XUVs boot space is also very less. Go for the Sonet
