2014 Kia sportage 2.0. Already had the same issue of the engine going into limp mode. Kia replaced the whole wastegate/turbo @75k mi. Now at 110k I'm experiencing the same problem. I'll def be adjusting my wastegate actuator rod from your instructions. Thanks for the help!

I got Car Scanner and OBDLink, same as yours. I have a 2014 SX-T. Car scanner app shows many different types of EWGA values. Two are close to 4, “adaptation value for lower stop of EWGA” and “max adaptation value for lower mechanical stops of the boost pressure actuator during engine stop.” Which of these should I be adjusting to 4.2?

2019 Kia Stinger GT. Are codes P0045, P259E, P25A1 commonly associated with the WG. I have a JB4 and when I installed EWG control connectors it triggered these codes mainly Bank 2 and I get throttle cuts . When I take them off and delete the codes the ECU resets and it's back to normal. Do you think this could be the actuator or possible voltage? Thanks

It should be at the very bottom in “all sensors”. Also check to see if the waste gate is the same as mine. It could be because its a 2011.

I have 2012 SX here at 4.4v and also the rod is broke off the wastegate someone overtightened the nut. So needs an actuator. I'm just looking for opinion on if an aftermarket actuator you see on Ebay unbranded are worth it. Or pay the extra 70 bucks and have oem. Or 500 bucks and get factory.

For these vehicles I highly suggest oem because these are sensitive motors:/. Or an another option is waste gate upgrade from KSR Performance. Use code “ Riseksr “ for my discount!

Hello, to tune the vehicle it is a tad but more difficult compared to other vehicles. But KSR PERFORMANCE HAS IT ALL DIALED down. He know well about the Korean platform.

I replaced it today... The actuator there was no nut holding it as someone overtightened and broke the nut off. And the rod was hanging. I tested voltage cold at 4.8v so that means to shorten the rod length?

Yes shorten the rod slowly until its at proper spec I noticed the rod should be at 6.5” for 14-15 SXL models

I don't know if you can help or not but I have a question I have a 2012 Hyundai sonata with 2.0T and on my way to the airport this morning the check engine light came on so I ran my scan tool and it says it's a p2563 which says the circuit is low so I'm assuming that means the wastegate has to be adjusted so my question is when I get back home am I going to have to have it towed to the dealership or is it still drivable until I can get it fixed? Any help is appreciated thank you.

Check the redit forum for waste gate voltage for your Genesis as it could be different from the optima due to voltage outputs. Make sure the exact year n model is put into the same app as displayed in the video👍

My KIA Sorento is displaying a high voltage of 6.7 volts (with the car off), and the westgate turbo doesn't have the means to regulate this voltage. How can I fix this? Can it be done with a scan device? If so, which scanner do you recommend?

Wondering if my 2012 sonata turbo might need this adjustment. I’m intermittently not able to accelerate or maintain speed. If I quickly let off the gas and then press down again acceleration is normal again. No warning lights or codes.

Give it a try but only adjust if the voltage is out of range. Other wise check for a boost leak👍

Cars in limp mode and I haven't driven it for about 3 weeks now as I don't want it to break down on the road. Car has definitely lost boost and is very sluggish. I'm assuming it's not safe to drive until the issue is resolved correct?

So if the range of the voltage for the wastegate is to off basically the turbo is cut off and will only run on motor. Make sure the voltage is set close and not to move the nut to much or it will go out of range alot. Do little increments at a time👍 let me know if that helps

My Kia optima sx 2012 also had this issue however no matter what voltage I adjust it will drop back to 1.0 I'm guessing it's damaged at this point. The rod also moves around and doesn't stay firmly in place.

What’s your take on chips? I have the LAP3 Uncle chip… and I know you have a different opinion on them. I was curious about the JB4 chip just because you can tell what it’s doing on your phone and know its actually working. Has anyone tried this product?

So As a consumer of using the lap3 chip and also Lap3 Pross Ecu tune and KSR Id say the chip only upt the boost but the ecu tune of lap3 and KSR did the most difference in power👍 but Ive honestly haven’t used the JB4 but also haven’t heard negatives of it either so thats a good thing. i know many stinger That use it with no issues.

@@BuLLGotcha it one of those things that you could never really tell. It all depends on the quality of work performed by the person who put the car together. My best advice is just take care of the car and check the oil regularly. Especially if it's turbo

My dealer says my actuator needs to be replaced. Not sure if I trust them :). I've had low power for a while now. Typically reset and started working better but still not full boost.

Try adjusting first yourself and if theres no luck then replace. But just dont tell them if you do then they will void your warranty.

Does this help the flutter noise with the turbo? I have an aftermarket BOV and a enjen air intake and I’ve adjusted the spring and still nothing. No leaks as well.
