Honestly, this kid is really perceptive and unfortunately has become more mature through the emotional trauma and social ostracization he's faced. It's really sad that he's had to endure such bullying, because you can really hear the hurt in his voice. But honestly, this kid gets it. He's really smart, perceptive and aware.

Man, when the kid talked about having ADHD, then said “I wanna do homeschool and I know my brain’s gonna say no you don’t, but I’m gonna stick to this answer because I rationalized it” Growing up with ADHD, even at 25 now, it hit home close to my heart. I know that feeling. Every decision that you want to make always has to be second guessed by your own brain unless you can kind of mentally rationalize that decision. And it sucks cause sometimes that can lead to missing on what could be great opportunities. And the whole bullying thing just kinda teared me up cause I was always bullied in my early school years because I was always this kid who acted on strange behaviors. And it’s not that I really ever wanted or intended to, it’s that I didn’t even realize it myself then. Kind of hard to when you’re just a kid yknow? But then other kids don’t know any better either and suddenly you’re easily the outcast basically. Man...listening to this was just like a introspective of sorts to me.

I can really relate man. There is not much for me to say, except be who you are, because there are people in the world that will find you funny, it may not be the kids of your age, but there are. Find something you enjoy, and stick to it, because what you are interested in, you can focus on. Lean on other people to help encourage you to do work, like asking your mother to keep watch of you and help you and make sure you do your homework, and stay away from areas with lots of distractions when doing the work, and remember that a strong tool to use is a good ol' sticky note.

Man I just wanna give this kid a hug. When he said he felt annoying and he felt as if his friends invited him out of pity, I nearly teared up. When he explained he would talk and then his friends would just ignore and start to talk to each other, I shed a tear. I know exactly what he means. Im 22 and to this day I still think about it almost every day. Was my whole childhood a farce? Did my friends just hang out with me because I was the poor kid with none of the new toys? Did that one kid I called my best friend even really like me? Or was I just a way to solve his boredom? (I only Think this because I was always the last resort to everyone) It makes me feel as if ill never find a real friend. I have “friends” but I can go months without talking to them without getting a single hello, yet I see them care and check up on each other all the time. I really hope this kid finds a good, true friend and comes out on top of all this. I hope hes doin okay. His self awareness and situational awareness at such a young age is really depressing. Not because thats a bad thing to be, but because it means this all will affect him that much more.

Similar situation here. I m just terrible with interactions i dont know if i fucked up somewhere or if people think im Not happy to see them cause im not too outgoing. I love to talk to people and all but im used to people not wanting to talk to me so i usually wait for people to manifest interest. Which might make me look like i simply dont give a shit. Idk. Probably not gonna see them after the end of the year since we ll head down different pathes most likely. Might stay in contact with a guy that’s also gonna serve in our military (not the us) and unlike most others isnt too reticent about it. We both like guns and that kind of stuff.

I have something called Tourette’s syndrome, and in case you don’t know what that is, it’s a mental disorder that causes tics. Tics are involuntary movements or sounds that you make. It’s something that’s very frustrating to live with. And what makes it even more frustrating is when people think I can control it when I can’t.

I know this video’s two years old, but I relate to this kid a lot and I gotta say man it gets better. I was diagnosed with ADD in the 1st grade I found out later in life my parents actually thought I had Aspergers. I grew up believing that because my mind worked differently than everyone else I’d never be good enough and my class mates made sure that I’d always think that about myself. The insomnia and good behavior in class to avoid scrutiny or any kind of attention from the teacher or other students hit home for me, I also was a huge fan of Kermit the frog when I was a kid which what are the odds I mean seriously? I’m 22 now and I’m just barely starting to undo the damage of my childhood and I’m slowly realizing that my life is worth a lot more than people made me believe. I still struggle to focus and medicinal marijuana helps with the insomnia, but things are a lot better. I hope this kid’s doing ok and hope he knows that he isn’t alone. Things WILL get better if they haven’t already.

I'm 19 now and 4'11", (slightly?) higher voice than average (in my opinion) and have never been bullied for it. While a big reason is that my schools were generally super friendly, I think the main reasons are the following: I carried myself with confidence and am naturally quite assertive. I'm physically fit and have other attractive attributes (so I'm told). I'm direct and sociable, meaning I'm engaging with people and things even when I'm out of my element, at risk of failure. I think that because of all of these things, people perceive me with more respect regardless of the environment (school or otherwise). I'm no stranger to jokes and such. Still, I've been told numerous times by many different people that I'm actually intimidating. *The point of this comment is that, for anyone in his boat or a similar one: Focus on yourself. Be your best self. Carry yourself higher and stronger, investing something into yourself (a passion, doesn't have to be fitness), develop attractive attributes and simply embrace what you cannot change.* Hope I could help anyone who really vibes with this guy's story/struggles.

No. There isnt therepy here. Its just an interview. I have ADHD btw. Hes Not gonna imrove by shutting out. Its just gonna be harder when be has to go out. He will be like me, scared of job interviews, scared of doing anything new where other strangers are involved. I got better at interacting with people and came to peace with the fact that other people might find me weird. It easier as an adult though. Kids are mega superficial. I got by by being hyper aware of inerctions others were having. Be on tbe outside lookimg in. Not on the outside looking away. Let insults by bullies slide off... It sucks thst your own family does it though... I was the oldest cousin and sibling and the second oldest has even more issues than me. I worry about him, and my other cousin is a shut in. Hes an adult now. Still lives with my grandparents still doesnt drive... Still doesnt work. I worry about what will happen whem my grandparents arent around. I cant help im just getting my life together at 27 (governments shutdown is holding up my paycheks tho) im pretty much a shut in to when im not working. I get along fine with people at work/school but ita always arms length. I prefer to play games anf talk to people online. And it never goes more than handful of people at a time.
