How GOOD was Mark Hunt Actually?
Mark Hunt was has had a rollercoaster of an MMA career. The man who was on the brink of being paid to stop fighting became one of the MMA's highest earners as at one point, he would make $750 000 to show up and fight.
But with a record of 13 wins and 14 losses with 1 draw and 1 no contest, how good was Mark Hunt Actually?

I just learned about him as I don't keep up with MMA anymore, but one thing I love (among everything else already stated in this video) is that he didn't have an ego. He didn't brag, he didn't talk trash, didn't play the "game" in any of those ways to increase his popularity (wether they believe in the hype themselves or not) the same way so many other fighters do. A man shows with his actions, not his mouth, and that's lost on SOOO many fighters in UFC already. Nothing but respect for a real man. Hope he lives a full, long, and happy life with his wife and kids if he has them.

Bud Borne obviously! Like he was implying that Mark hunt is a top 10 highest paid ufc fighter, which means money he gets in the ufc, when you hear Lebron james being one of the top paid nba athletes, that means his contract in the nba is one of the highest, that’s not including his money from out of the nba. If he meant to include Mark hunts earning from out of the ufc then he would’ve said he was a top 10 earning fighter and would not have specifically mentioned UFC

“I will probably end my life fighting… I’ve been fighting since I was a child, fighting to get out of my circumstances. I used to make $300 a week, struggling to put food on the table but I have become one of the highest-paid fighters in the world. I feel that’s destiny. This is what I’m supposed to be doing and if I die fighting, that’s fine. I just hope that if it does happen, it will be in an honest and fair competition… My body is f**ked but my mind is still here. I’ve still got my senses about me and I know what’s right and wrong, which is the main thing. Sometimes I don’t sleep well. You can hear me starting to stutter and slur my words. My memory is not that good anymore. I’ll forget something I did yesterday but I can remember the s**t I did years and years ago. That’s just the price I’ve paid - the price of being a fighter. But I’ve fought a lot of drug cheats and copped a lot of punishment from guys who were cheating and that’s not right.”

Bro saying "oh you wouldn't say that to mark" or "I'd like to see you fight mark" is the most retarded response ever. Yes a person who has any fight training would beat someone who doesn't. WHAT DOES THAT PROVE? That he can beat easy targets? I do agree that some of his losses were BS due to him fighting steroided up fighters but the losses where he didn't, he still got bodied. His whole complex is to hit hard and hope for the best. Mark is a legend but he wasn't nowhere near the best.

The man was a legend. Especially considering how old he was when he started his MMA career. If you include his K-1 career his record suddenly becomes much more impressive. Keep in mind that he started his MMA career at age 30 and went straight into the best heavy weight division at the time and quite possibly ever. Fedor, Big Nog, Crocop, and Josh Barnett to name a few. Mpst fighters start their career with about 10 fights at a lower level to prove themselves and get used to MMA. He didn't get that at all. Plus, gotta give props to the only man I've seen outfighting Fedor in his prime. He lost because Fedor always finds a way but had that fight ended at 8 minutes and went to the judges Mark would've walked out with the belt. Not one in that legendary division can say I stepped into the ring with Fedor and outfought him for 8 Minutes.

I used to think he was a little too vocal about Dana/UFC and the corruption, but seeing this compilation makes it seem extremely valid. Mark hunt is a prime example that fighting the toughest fights fairly makes you much more respected than any undefeated or barely defeated fighter. When Mark walks into an arena as a spectator, people turn their gaze on to him and away from the cage. Fighters like Jorge Masvidal, DC are on record talking about how Mark Hunt inspires them to this day.

Hunt is a beast and a real humble guy i met him years ago in Auckland NZ. This was maybe 10 or 12 years ago and i'd recently watched one of his fights. I just said hey mate iv'e seen you fight before and it's bloody beautiful to watch. He laughed told me he;s glad i enjoyed it and we started talking about Japan and i forgot what we said after that. But yeah. He was truly a beast in the UFC i remember just wanting to watch his fights cause his hooks were always so quick for his size.

This man is a warrior! No question he is my all time favorite fighter. I was never so hyped up over a fight then when he knocked out Struve. I've never felt that way about a fight since. Win or lose, His fearlessness and humility is unmatched!

Mark Hunt is one of my all time favorite fighters. The narrator mentioned he had good take down defense which I believe is true, but if he was taken own his wrestling defense was inferior to say the least. The most entertaining part of MMA is when fighters stand and fight, once it goes to the ground the fight becomes uninspiring and colorless imo. Some of the fighters he beat were absolute monsters in the sport. Mark Hunt was the manifestation of badassery and toughness in the ring. Cheers

Very good you put in the *K1 fight with Ray Sefo..i was just a kid back then and those matches were only aired on 'dodgy TV channels', in the middle of the night...it was one of the coolest fights i ever saw! Highly reccommend younger/newer MMA fans to check that out, as there are some epic K1 clasics, featuring many of the biggest names to date..

I knew someone who worked as a bouncer in Auckland some years ago. Some bloke angry about being asked to leave the bar was looking for someone to have a go at, and thought he'd start puffing out his chest at another guy outside having a smoke. The bouncers stepped in and said no mate, don't go there. "Why not?" Because that's Mark Hunt.... "Who?"...
