There is so much from this single story that makes me feel so defeated about how the justice system works in America. In the beginning of the video when they mention he took a plea deal for a previous assault because the victim wouldn't testify. I think to myself no matter how scared or humiliated someone who has been abused I feel it's so important to work with investigators and prosecutors to get these people locked up for as long as possible. Then you hear them essentially make him a victim for the murder and it's just so absolutely confusing how so out of sorts this system works.

I visited Cleveland, Ohio 30 years ago. One of my cousins told me to check if someone was approaching the car while we were getting some gas. I was surprised to hear her say that because in Europe people are usually relaxed when they get some gas. My heart goes out to her family. R.I.P Reagan.

As a retired Probation and Parole Officer, I'm wondering why this scumbag was wearing an ankle bracelet, when there was no one monitoring him...or was someone negligent and was supposed to be monitoring him and wasn't doing their job...there needs to be accountability from the state for this young woman's horrible and preventable death

Jury got that sentencing wrong imo. The Judge was completely right, the defendant gets spared because of his background, but Reagan suffered horribly & ultimately had her life stolen because of HIS background.

Why dont people learn the difference between shaking your head No and NODDING your head means Yes? SHAKE = NO NOD = YES

I can't recall ever really thinking about that. I'm pretty sure I naturally say the correct phrase, but I have a crap memory, so now you have me doubting every time I've ever said one of those.

Uhh I was also confused but. In fairness. The way it sounded. They were relaying when he was in lockup they went to visit him he is in one of those visitation booths.. So he knew the phone was recorded. That's why he said NO, but nodded his head YES. That's why the lawyer kept confirming what he said and the corresponding action nod or shake.. May be wrong.
@shirleyashanti30314 ай бұрын
That's not true. People do both for both. That's why it always has to be clarified in court record. As a court reporter, we're taught NOT to interpret these movements. It's up to counsel or the Court to clarify. I've had hundreds of cases where it's totally opposite of what you think it means. I put in a parenthetical that witness is moving head side to side or up and down.
