NO WE dont need more of that..Considering he lowey tried to sell his folk down the river (lowkey tho) He aint iish except another paid opportunist via the Trumpublicans and their white evangelical cohorts including Mr.Kemp. We need black leadership that does not try to insult our intelligence, its offensive.

@Ib Ibsem If it's a legitimate question I am sure if you do some research you can get a sense as to where the funding is coming from. Am sure it's from some type of (public/private) investors. As far as being owned: We are all slaves to someone or something. We don't necessarily have to have a physical collar around our necks to be in bondage. Thus, is the reality of this life.

@amitsalam1
@amitsalam1 4 жыл бұрын
@@mittensmcghee4916 Well when I go to the Faqs section of their website I see that it will be FDIC insured ( bankgreenwood.com/faqs/ ). And you maybe are confusing rules as they pertain to public companies (like those which are on the NASDAQ or NYSE) for those who are private companies. Greenwood Bank is a private company founded by 3 men. (1 of the 3 being Killer Mike.) Since private companies do not raise money from the investing public, they are not subject to the same disclosure laws as public companies. Investors in private companies are considered to be sufficiently well informed about their investment decisions so as not to require the protection of disclosure laws. Now if he chooses to disclose who the investors are that's a decision which his partners and he have to agree on. Everything isn't a conspiracy and one can be as altruistic as they want to be (to the level of Jesus Christ to those who believe in him) but fundamentally, someone has to pay for it. (Jesus had to pay for it.) Nothing in life is free.

@@VentureHolly I don't know what man's true nature is. I think it's complex. And depending on someones life experience/world view, they'll have their own POV of who man is, the purpose of man, why we're here etc. I grant you your argument concerning habits of hunter-gatherers plus what you mention as far as capitalism and meritocracy. Even what you said about the proletariats being at each others throats. ...Unfortunately anything in excess is never good. I think we should practice balance. That phrase that you zoned in on is basically saying that in life (forget the artificial systems we have cooked up (politics, religion, class etc.)) there are simply trade offs and compromises which need to be made. Nature: she makes these trade offs organically. Man being part of Nature, we do this too. In regards to the example you used of hunter-gatherer societies, the trade off is self interest for that of the group. Thus, nothing in life is free.

If thats the case wells fargo and others wouldn't lose lawsuits about racial discrimination in loan practices not only for homes but businesses. There wouldn't be redlining going on. My mother who has an 800+ credit score and a 6 figure job wouldnt get denied home loans when she owns 5 properties and makes ALL her payments on time AND has additional income to cover another 2 mortgages if she so chose. But banks don't care about race?! Get off the sugarless kool aid dude.

I know what you're saying. It's the one piece of the equation that doesn't fit the "Buy from Black Businesses" philosophy. I have always bought from the business that supplied the best product, at the best price. After all it is my money. I NEVER asked the race or color of the owner. But strangely enough, now, in the push toward equality I'm being asked to look at race first. Seems kind of convoluted.

We have Black owned banks, now. Until we are able to create our own economic system, we need to continue to invest in them. I am actually reading Our Kind of People right now. I didnt but I could. And I'm not a hater. Im a realist. This will not take off because of systematic issues against black people. We're only allowed enough to not complain. And thats not much Too many of us are satisfied with mediocre. Every endeavor we try is undermined because a lot of us want to be recognized first. And "help" our people second. And we look to wypeopo to fund our endeavors. He is not doing this without them. Plus...we gotta stop looking at "famous" black people as a gold standard for the cause of our plights. Personally...im gone do fine because I know how to steal and cheat. AndI have a hustle. Just like wypeopo. So I don't need anyone advocating for me. We all need to adapt that philosophy. Too many of us look for help instead of getting things on their own. Bet im not gone starve or go without. I'll squat before im homeless. I'll steal before I starve. They do it so I will too.

@@mlgreen111 sigh...how does it sound like I've given up?? I never said dont try..its useless. I said the way he's going is what we've always done. Has it worked? It would be unfortunate if he couldn't go to alllll the wealthy black people for support. I know none or have heard of no white person who's genuinely interested in our advancement. They want to get involved in our endeavors to eventually take it over. And we fall for it every time. Because we look to them...on a subconscious level, as a savior. Its rooted. It has a lot to do with the Willie letter to former owners of enslaved people. He's a millionaire. And I'm sure he knows other black millionaires. The founding should be all black investors and done QUIETLY.

@@PlAtOsEpIpHaNy For starters he supports Bernie Sanders although the great economic minds Sowell, Friedman, Williams (all of whom he has read) specifically warn him. 2nd I grew up hood but I got to travel a lot and Latinos don't use LatinX, most don't know wtf it means, it's insulting, imagine some 19y/o white Australian chic coming up with a new name for African Americans like Negrodians Z - because SHE feels it's more inclusive. I got more but I'm not sure that ur interested or have the time. If u are tell me ur top 3 emcees! Then I'll provide more details. I'm living in DR right now and don't have anybody to talk HipHop.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Black identity is as racist as white identity. Racism is an objective thing. Not saying black identity isn't a thing, or worth thinking about, but to act on it on a business level or political level is racist. Imagine "White owned Bank". Just reverse the race and re-ask the question if you still don't know what racism is.
