Just bought the non-railed version. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to be popular enough for the aftermarket world to start building products. Aftermarket plates and grips would be nice to see.

Mine failed to feed from the start. Thought it was just a break in period but kept happening. Had to send it back to Kimber. I have to say that Kimber’s service department has been great so far. Hopefully they will correct whatever is wrong with it.

I was a little nervous about new KIMBER but love their new revolvers and inherent quality so bought KDS9. Mine has been excellent. Plate was no problem and I co witness ok. Plate issues run across companies. Maybe 1000 rounds fine with all types of ammo. My neighbor wanted to learn to shoot,I trained her on several pistols but she likes my KIMBER. She has 500 rds through hers and zero problems. Ryders Range loves it and that says a lot! I got mine for 1300$ and all midrange pistols,1911s, are about 1500$

Unfortunately You only got the treatment you did because of your YT platform. Just had to send mine back because of serious issues with malfunctions and QC. I asked for one extra magazine for the inconvenience, and they said that wasn’t possible. They offered a sticker for the trouble. The worst experience I’ve ever had with a firearm company
@ohiobrew2 ай бұрын
Exactly! Brand new gun and it should not happen! I use my guns, not collect my guns. What happens if I need to use it in self defense? I did not even make it through a box of ammo. I need to send it in and get it fixed and then sell it!
@jprez559Ай бұрын
as someone who has had to deal with kimber numerous times for issues they have been nothing short of amazing. i shipped my 1911 kimber lw in on wednesday and it arrives back to me tomorrow. the fact that they fix everything and take care of shipping is more than enough. the fact that your asking for free stuff is just over reaching unless you have had to send the same firearm back numerous times. my lw had a qc issue and a feeding issue and this is the second time ive had to send back. they stated if i have to send back again the firearm would either be completely replaced and or upgraded into a better model. but if your asking for $50 mags just because you had to send it back and get mad when they say no is laughable.

The truth is, it works just fine. I am up to 2200 rounds and I have not had one issue of any kind.

Got one an ftf every mag at least once for the first 500 rounds, had the same problem with with the grips being loose and the mag falling out. Sent it back to them just got it back today and the first damn round jammed. I have many kimbers and love everyone of them but there about to buy this pos back
@YouTubeDeletedYourComment8 ай бұрын
Mine was a jam factory the first 250 rounds. I'm talking about a 50% FTF rate. Shit was almost embarrassing at the range with my buddies. Next 250 were better with maybe 2 or 3 FTF. I'm going tomorrow again and if it fails on me again its going to kimber. Also they're giving 2 15 round mags and a set of grips for free if you bought it this year.
@ChamberOneTactical8 ай бұрын
We hate to hear that you are having trouble with your KDS9C. I'm sure that is frustrating and hopefully Kimber will take care of the issue. Keep us in the loop and we like to hear other's experiences.
@YouTubeDeletedYourComment8 ай бұрын
@ChamberOneTactical just got back from the range and put about 250 or more rounds through it. With about 7 FTF. I emailed kimber waiting for a response. To say im disappointed in this thing is the most polite thing i can say. I wish i could get my full 1800 back, but i know I'll take a loss if i decide to sell it.

Is the beaver tail on that unit loose? Just curious because I got mine back from kimber service. They had to fix my mag release as it was wearing into the frame badly, they fixed it and refinished the frame and the beaver tail has significant side to side wobble and makes audible sounds when moving around while in the holster. I swear it was tight when I sent it to them

Here’s a little info on how Kimber treats customers. I purchased a Kimber TLE II back many years ago and now have around 8k rounds through the pistol. Unfortunately the pistol is now a paper weight unless I want to pay Kimber over $400 to fit a new slide because parts are no longer available as it has an external extractor. I’d love to know what the marketing director says about that. They had a bad design years ago, and will not make it right. The KDS9C will eventually fall into the same boat and they will leave customers hanging. By the way, this just happened so it’s the current customer service.

OK Gents, a quick & simple question for you. I'm on the verge of replacing / upgrading my Car Pistol (not carry). After much research, down to two options. This KDS9c Rail? Or Sig P229 Legion SAO?
@ChamberOneTactical5 ай бұрын
We can’t speak to the P229 as we have not shot that gun yet. I will say that the sig has a great reputation. We will try to get our hands on one so that we can do a review on it.

I got my Sig P229 about ten days ago; I have been to the range two times and it shoots like a dream. The trigger is great. I've only shot 90 rounds so it is too early to draw any conclusions. I got a muddy river tactical holster and I don't see any reason why I couldn't carry this pistol.

No grip safety is why I don’t want one of these. Carrying locked and cocked with just a manual safety is extremely unsafe. Those safeties get knocked off very easily in the holster and then you’re walking around with a hair-trigger gun just waiting for a negligent discharge.

I am shocked that you have been bamboozled with a few token gifts. I have worked in Engineering, Manufacturing and Services going on 40 plus years. I have never, but ever heard of the head of marketing contacting anyone about a product quality issue. If it had been from someone in Customer Service or in engineering or the head of the company (for a SMB) then I would’ve been impressed. This is nothing more than an effort to mitigate the bad press. It’s laughable that you are admitting your own ignorance. I’m not trolling. You just need to be a little bit more introspective of Greeks bearing gifts.
