As an Ethiopian, I'm so happy that you covered our Bible in your video. One small detail I'd like to add is that Ge'ez is a language that has now gone almost extinct. It's still used in the Orthodox church for liturgy but no one actually uses it for daily communications. That being said, the verse you showed earlier was not in the Ge'ez language rather that is the Amharic language. Which uses Ge'ez alphabet. Like how English language uses latin characters.

And one more detail is that the Ethiopian Bible was first translated from the Greek Bible into Ge'ez language than later on to Amharic. This is the Bible most of us use today.

This video was really eye-opening in showing how the ancient Ethiopian Bible translation of Ephesians 6:12 is virtually identical to the King James Version. The fact that these translations from such different time periods and languages are so similar is a testament to the faithful preservation of the biblical text over centuries. It's amazing to see how the core meaning and interpretation has been maintained, even as the scriptures were translated into new languages like Ge'ez. Learning about the Ethiopian Bible's history as one of the earliest non-Aramaic, non-Greek translations was fascinating. The video did a great job walking through the process of finding and verifying the translation, which gave me confidence in the fidelity of this ancient version. Seeing how Google Translate aligned so closely with the King James really drives home the point that the biblical text has been meticulously preserved, despite misconceptions that translations have been altered over time. This video has strengthened my trust in the reliability and universality of the scriptures. It's inspiring to see how Christians around the world have engaged with the same foundational texts for centuries. Thank you for this enlightening look into biblical translation history.

Good video and clever hack. One thing I've always wondered about is how the books of Maccabees were replaced in the Ethiopian Bible with the Ethiopian Maccabees (and wish there was a good translation of them). They have the same names, so it's puzzling, especially since outside of the Ethiopian Bible those books are in every Christian Bible.

Blessings, and thank you so much for watching and engaging! I truly appreciate you. This video was created in response to a question (or rather, a challenge) posed on my video ‘The Geneva vs. KJV’ (kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2PXh3Z-p8mbfdEsi=bxL7PQhiz631GEuB), which suggested that the Ethiopian Bible reads completely differently from the KJV. In reality, the differences between the KJV and the Ethiopian Bible are primarily due to language and the number of books included. The 1611 KJV contains 73 books, while the Ethiopian Bible includes 81 books.

2:38 Geneva Bible Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, and against the worldly gouernours, the princes of the darkenesse of this worlde, against spirituall wickednesses, which are in ye hie places. All very similar, but the Geneva Bible contains language that would have offended the worldly governors. Which leads me to believe they didn’t get the chance to remove the parts they didn’t approve of.

God Bless the Ethiopic Church, Hallelujah! Even though Protestant, I love how the Ethiopian Bible and its Church, are so way far ahead Spiritually, meanwhile we Protestants have died down, used to be far ahead, but, as Modern times came in, we Protestants have died down, because of the technology, I know the Orthodox still hold the traditional, we have became so secular, it just does not seem like the Protestant Church does not hold its traditional state anymore. Catholics are probably becoming more secularized too, in a slow pace. I have to say, there are only a few Protestants left that use their Churches traditionally, and often rare to see.

Enoch is part of the Ethiopian cannon, I think? In Acts 8:26-40, Philip baptizes the Ethiopian eunuch, which is the start of Christianity in Ethiopia maybe? Ethiopia may have gotten Jewish converts when the Queen of Sheba visited King Solomon? Just musings.....

@bigwill2482 Blessings! Cherry picking!?Lol! Ephesians 6:11 is actually one of the most debated Bible verses right now. Just so you know, a commenter mentioned that there was a major difference in translation, so I compared the King James and the Ethiopian Bible, and it turns out there are no major differences between them. I’m extending the same offer to you-choose any Scripture, and I’ll gladly make a video on it to examine the translation for you. Are you up for the challenge?

Aside from the differences in the books canonized between the KJV and the Ethiopian Bible, there are no major discrepancies-they remain consistent in the content of the universal 66 books. Regardless of any differences some might expect, all Bibles are translated from the same source texts available at the time. 🤷🏿‍♂️

The difference in the KJV and the Ethiopian Bible is God was divinely involved in canonizing the books in the KJV using King James and others, and not allowing books that were not divinely inspired by Him to be used. Expand tour research.....
