Its a very heads I win, tails you lose situation. For whatever reason Aqua is incapable of leaving the World of Darkness. This applies to NO ONE ELSE. This is King Mickey's what...3rd trip there if you count him finally going there to rescue her. There is no explanation as to how he even got out after sealing the door the first time. I'll say this much. Keeping Terranort there was probably...just a kick the can down the road but it would have prolonged many many things from happening if at all. Primarily Xehanort's Heartless (Ansem) and Xemnas from having ever been born or the several pieces that would go on to be Xehanort's bodies. Infact...Xehanort wouldn't even have the power to travel through time. If he did it'd be up until his possession of Terra and no further. If anything he'd probably tell him don't get jebaited by Aqua and fall into the World of Darkness. I'll also say Aqua could have fucking stayed in the real world to better prepare for the incoming threat instead of sacking herself. With two active masters (if you include Mickey), Aqua probably would have eventually received the Kingdom Key if and when it was needed. But expecting anything 'good' out of Aqua is just meh....

Keeping terranort there would probably make things happen quicker since Xehanort can manipulate darkness much more easily than terra and considering aqua fell to darkness, Xehanort wouldve gotten his memories back more quickly. Also terra wasnt doing a bad job of fighting him.
