I'm 28 years old and I've never been attracted to gyms and lifting weights as everyone else. I'm so glad I discovered this channel. It really gives me motivation and to pursue what's really good for me and my body. All this core strenght is very interesting. That's something I'm more interested in instead of just getting shredded just for appearances. Being able to control my body like that would be so satisfying. It's never too late and I'm glad I'm still able to get the type of body that suits me best!

Never too late? You're not even 30. Start now and you'll hit 40 and be as mobile and look as young in your physique and movement as you are at 28. Be consistent, doing some type of workout or exercise daily. It's not hard if you can make it part of life. Calisthenics are very portable, you can take them anywhere you go.

Lifting to build a bit of muscle mass can be helpful to get into calisthenics faster I would say. Especially if you start from a position where you're really lacking muscles. You can definitely get there just doing push ups/dips, pull ups etc though ! But yep, doing some lifting to start building up some muscles isn't a bad idea. Actually most athletes in any strength based sports like climbing, swimming, gymnastics, fighting etc have some sort of weight lifting incorporated in their training.

Very interesting tips ! I started climbing 2 years ago (no workout at all before that, currently 31yo) and I'm now getting interested in calisthenics ! I realized these two share some components, although climbing is focused on pulling strength 99% of the time. So I definitely lack pushing strength, and some core power as well. Started to work on it, a bit all over the place with all these nice skills I'd love to learn, but with motivation, consistency and knowledge I should get there ! The core tips were really enlightning :)

I like the way you give advice on sneaky stretches whilst watching tv. The tips on 'setting' your back, pulling the lower back in before stretching forward in straddle position or with legs together is so so key. See it done so badly so often. Form is what i aim for now, and this video is great at explaining why it is so important.

First time watching your video, and I thank you kindly for giving me basic education. All too often, plenty of guys are eager to teach, but for those of us who don’t know where to start, it’s overwhelming, and we quickly move on. What I would love to see (maybe you already have contents created in this regard) is some beginner discrete exercise moves, number of reps/duration, frequency, and what to eat to supply the nutritional demand. I am 47 and been doing yoga for years but now am just starting more strength training. Great video, thank you for sharing! I'm going to start this type of training. For those who would like to balance their strength training, I can help as a certified stretch coach, and I mean real - deep stretching, that actually change your body (re-modeling the fascia). Warm up stretching don't make you more flexible, they just do what they refer to ..."warm up" the body, increase blood flow, create neuromuscular connection before exercise. 😊
