My dad had said several times over the past couple of days that he saw his uncle Alec, and that Alec was 'waiting for him'. His uncle Alec had died 36 years earlier, but was the closest male relative he had to a father, someone whom he admired greatly, as his own father died when he was 7 years old. On Friday my dads cousin visited, my dad did not recognise him (because of the dementia), so he showed my dad a picture on his mobile phone. He asked my dad if he recognised the person in the picture, "Alec Fraser" said my dad (it was a picture of his uncle), my dad smiled the biggest of smiles, then fell asleep, and he never woke up, he died on the Saturday morning. The visitor was 'young Alec', my dads cousin and his uncle Alec's son, he just came to see my dad out of the blue. ...

This track has always resonated with me and this acoustic version really shows his pure emotion as he’s lost a friend years ago sooo tragic. I’ve suffered for years from depression and suicidal ideation but this song has helped me heaps. I just found out about 4 hours ago that my partner’s neighbour had committed suicide and I spoke to him on Friday. It just shows that you never know what someone is going through and it’s just fortunate that my partner’s car broke down this morning, otherwise he wouldn’t have been there to at least try to do CPR.
